When I go get the bike in the morning, it starts fine. Then, say, I ride down the street to the local adult store. The bike won't start unless I push start it. If I let it sit for an hour or so and it starts up just fine. Then once it warms up again, there's no starting it. It seem electrical. The bike won't try to do anything, like the kickstand is down or the kill switch is "off". I was thinking regulator/rectifier, or maybe the starter or stator, but I'm new to these bikes, so I figuered I'd get some imput before I take it to get $70 or so per half hour in labor at the shop.
Thanks.
Sam
edit: 01 f4i. I did a search but didn't come up with anything too concrete.

i think it's the starter. my bronco did that. next time it happens try to tap the starter and see if it starts. i'm not sure where the starter is though.

Do these bikes have separate starters and solenoids? Is the battery strong?

Yeah I'm pretty sure the battery is good. Also I'm not sure where the starter is either, I'll check when I get home. On my last bike, I think it was inside the crankcase? Not easy to tap.
