any suggestions for getting some serious skills for working on my bike. I love working on it. Not as much as riding but still do.

should a person just start with the service manual and take the bike apart and put it back together or any online sites or what?

I peronally just read, then read then read before i do a job. There are a few courses which i considered taking but when i looked into it most where only really basic courses so i never bothered.

Unless you wanna do it as a career, your best bet is probably to memorize your service manual. Read re-read and read some more, then reference as you do it.

Get the manual and a friend. Find a buddy that can help, that hopefully has some experience. Some things are a little too important to guess on. Like brakes, very simple for most, but if you’re not mechanically incline… get help.

Your best bet is to just do all your work yourself. And dont just do the work UNDERSTAND how it all works. Sit and think about what every part does that you are working on and why it is there. If you can figure out how something works then you can fix anything. A manual is needed also. Just take your time and understand what you are doing. Do not rush.
