I have had my 05 600rr at about 125 mph, but I'm not sure because I did want to look down. All I wanted to do was to watch the road and other traffic. Also the G-force on my face was a new experience to me, but was very fun.

WTF... I don't think the terminal speed of an F4i would reach 300MPH out of a plane at 10,000 feet.

I would like to support this ....ive sat on the landspeed record bike hes speaking of....today as a matter of fact the 04 team falkner/livingston... whom i both know personally who built the bike. 184.610@ bonneville, you can see the bike and its twin brother the custom turbo charged 600RR at pole position raceways in corona where im a manager, at times the bike can also be seen at race tech. I have previously asked about stock in comparison with custom speeds done on this bike.... the 600rr stock doesn't pull outa the 160's. mind u at bonneville conditions are actually very bad for landspeed records due to thinner air. by the way, the motor on both the nitro and turbo'd 600's that set the record.....are almost completely stock. its all bolt on and proper setup that achieved these numbers. along with custom carbon fiber rims that were $2,000 a piece and a custom catalyst body for each. :) fun times i hope to pilot one of the bikes this year they bring up, they've told me its a possibility but ...no promises as of yet!

The speedo will be off by 5 mph or more at high speeds, 179 mph I seriously doubt being that the land speed record on a 600rr was recently set on an RR with nitrous (and other mods) at 184 mph (radar confirmed).

I've had a indicated 157 mph on my '03 RR and I side note...with stock gearing you cannot redline this bike in 6th gear!

please, i've taken corners at over 130 before with no problem. I've hit 165 before my power commander. i'm small enough to tuck down completely against the tank and behind the windcreen. at that speed, wind resistance is your biggest obastacle, aside from needing more power.

I call B.S. to 165.....

My 03 600RR holds three standing mile national top speed records set at Maxton, NC. I bought it as a wreck (hit in the back). It runs in the open class NO FAIRING. Dead stock (even the exhaust) but lowered, it ran 155mph. With one tooth larger rear sprocket (lower gearing) it went 157. I use it as a training bike for my two man team of really high speed racers. The 600 lets you know if you are tucked properly as it is easy to lose a mph or two if you are not. Go to www.precisionchassis.com and look under motorcycles to see my 251 MPH Suzuki powered custom chassis. Also look under special projects to see me on my twin-engine GSXR. Bonneville has been wet the last two years. Hopefully 2006 will be good and 270MPH will be possible. I have been racing top speed at Bonneville for 25 years (In the 200 Club but now retired due to poor eyesight). My riders have some impressive speeds including 220 on motor and 205 on motor open. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them. LSL

I saw 168 yesterday when i glanced down in tuck position with a backpack on. I hit that on I5, nice smoothe pavement. My 4th gear hits 143-145 every time. I try not to look down much when I am hauling ass. Also i hit 145-155 constantly from woodland to davis, bike didn't even hesitate. But, I am kinda wondering if thats a big reason why my bike is totally ****in dead right now.

Damn, 162 on F4i. I thought the f4i was a lot slower than the RR, but I guess not. you have any mods on the f4i. I almost would be an f4i owner. They are the most comfortable 600 sportbike ever. I want to find one that lost some plastics to use as a stunter.

Only mods I have on my bike is a micron slip on and I cut the air intake box. Also, I was looking at the comparison of the '01 f4i and the '03 600rr. The f4i has a faster quarter mile than the rr.

I will have to agree with what TH0001 had said. I think this is prolly the best estimate your going to get as far as top end with these bikes. The digital speedo at 169 means your probally going a true 157-160.sad but true.

Okay, first of all, nobodies 600 stock can do 169..... Your speedometer is wrong simply...
