I live in San Francisco, CA. I recently traded my bike for a 05 gsxr1000. I was promised 7k for my old bike. Not bad considering I only owed around 5k on it. Well to make a long story short, the sales manager ****ed up and wrote down the pay-off amount as 2k. what an idiot right? so i get a call three weeks later from him saying that i still owe 3k on my old bike and he expects me to pay it. WTF??? Then he threatens me that if i dont pay it off my credit is going to become ****ed up. I asked him why i should be responsible for his mistake and he shoots back with, "I didn't make a mistake. I have the name a number of the finance person who quoted me that amount." What??!?! What about what I quoted you?? I told him the pay-off amount during the deal! And since he found out while I was still at the store, why didn't he tell me right there and then??? Shady huh? That's not all. He calls the person from the fiance company to double check tye pay-off in front of me. Guess what? it's around 5k like i quoted. asshole! but he still doesn't fess up and just says, "hey its your credit, you are responsible for it."
and another thing that's shady, they wrote me two different purchase contracts for the same bike on the same day. one was stating the trade in value as 7k while the other said 6.4k. guess which the sales manager honors? too shady! both were signed and official btw.
i mean this dealership has the reputation of ripping people off even back in the day. people who live around me know which dealership im talking about. but ive made friends there and have gone back many times in the past two years ive been riding. Ive been responsible for many of their sales within that time. and this is how they treat me! well i should be fair. this sale manager is relatively new. he's supposed to be a former car salesman. but i dont know what kind of business practice it is to ass-rape old loyal customers like this. yes, you may have a monopoly in sf, but sooner or later your good location isnt going to be good enough to hold on to bsuiness.

L8X - good to see ya around again. Sorry the stealership is being a pain. That's why I sell my bikes outright then pay cash -- bastids can't goof on ya then. Hope you can get this settled to your satisfaction.

Yep, selling your soul to the darkside will always bite you in the ass. Sorry to hear that man. There is nothing more frustrating than cheating wicked sales people.

I recently came accross this hilarious article where justice was served by people sticking up for one another...

We should all put this dealership in its place

Do it! Lets start a new thread called "I heard of you screwing over L8X, GGC!" and everyone can post something unique, lol.

Sounds fun to me.

If you host it on your site and post a link to it here I think you'd probably be o.k. I'm pretty sure the admins don't want to have to deal with an angry bike shop -- even though they did do you wrong.

You can post your experiences as a customer. It's a public message board. By all means you can post the name to warn customers of your bad experience there. I wouldn't get into slander or anything, but you can post your experience there and if the dealership chooses to sign up and post their responce, thats up to them.

On a personal note, if you have anything in writing stating what the pay off amount is, and they have signed off on it, then I would think it's a legal binding contract. I would think you have a great case to take them to court. Otherwise tell them to give you back your Honda and you will return your Suzuki and you will go on your merry way to another dealership. If they can't give you your bike back, then it's their loss.

I would also call the company that the Honda was financed from and get them involved. Explain the situation to them and see what they say. That way you can keep it off your credit. If it's written in the agreement that the dealership in question was to pay off x amount for the honda, then it's on them. Technically if you owe money on the Honda and the dealership won't pay it off, then it's still your bike. So you can get it back.

Any updates yet? Have you called the company the Honda was financed through and asked their advice?

I did not post comments on your site however I sent them the following email:

To whom it may concern,

I am in the market for an 06 CBR 1000 RR.

More than price, the integrity and honesty of a dealership is what I find most attractive in making a purchase. A dealership I can trust and return over and over again. Your dealership happens to be in my area.

When I decide to make a purchase I do some research on feedback from those who have done business with you in the past. Frankly I am very dissappointed on what I found.

I would like to tell you that what you put the gentleman through on the LEX Racing site has made such a great impact on me that, not only will I be making this purchase elsewhere, but I intend to notify all of my fellow riders to stay as far away from your dealership as possible when making any transactions dealing with all items you carry.

You have made a great mistake in treating your customers like this and the word will spread about your dishonesty and I assure you that your business will be severily impacted. In my opinion you should make this wrong right to prove you are willing to save your name. I will be checking back to this site to hopefully hear positive feedback. As for now, I can assure you that nobody I know will do business with you.

Make it right

Crap!

The email came back as failed to deliver. Looks like they failed to pay their internet bill.

Anyone got another email besides ggcycles@aol.com?
