I just recently bought a 2007 Honda1300R. when you shift from 1st to 2nd, it clunks in just like going into 1st gear, I've tried my best to shift as smooth as I know how to and sounds like I don't know how to shift, I traded in a 2005 Yamaha 1100, and it did not do this...I've asked the dealer, he thought this was normal....anybody have same experience as me....or is it just me? thanks, Bill Heister, Stillwater, OK

Personally I don't have any first hand experience with a Honda 1300R. After test riding the Honda CBR 600RR I didn't notice any clunkyness from 1st to 2nd. It seems to me that some bikes get it, others don't. I was considering the Yammy R6, but apparently 1999 through to 2002 have this same problem. In the end I went for Honda because of the build, and because of all the praise I heard from various bikers. So far so good.
Take my old Aprilia RS125 for example, I did have a 2nd gear clunk, but it wasn't something that I was overly concerned about. If noone else has any experience, maybe take it in to your local workshop.
I also had a quick look around on the net for you, but that didn't reveal anything untoward..

Def up for a weekend ride sometime. I get my bike so so soon, like this weekend, and it's my birthday on Sunday, I'll be 27

Cheers dude :-D I picked it up today!
Definately will take it easy for a bit. Only had a couple 125cc bikes so completely different kettle of fish. On big open straight roads i've given it a bit, only to like 7 grand, but the thing goes up to 15!! I can't imagine taking it up that high. It was almost scary, but soooooooo much fun at the same time. I now know it's possible to be shit scared and really happy at the same time

..ive never been to the uk...im curious whats are the average speed limits out there in the UK ??
just curious....

30 mph in built up areas ... 40 mph in some lesser built areas ... 70 mph on motorways ... 60mph on country lanes etc ...

yep, unless you feel like going faster, since speed cameras usually only take pictures of front plates, and not out rears hahaha jk
