Well, I know I haven't been on here long, but just thought I would share an experience with you all.....I went down about 3 weeks ago on my '01 F4i.......I was with my usual weekend warrior buddies riding in the mountains and came around the 6 consecutive switchback turn coming down the mountain and lost it in some gravel at about 25 MPH.....needless to say, this was a pretty bad turn because they had a concrete retaining wall up in the corner becuase they have had so many wrecks there....anyway, me and the bike hit the wall togather and I flew off the bike after that and hit the wall myself and then the bike came around and hit me....I had all my gear on and I came out with a pretty bad scratched up knee and I ended up on crutches for about a week.....
I'm healing up a lot faster than my bike...anyway, here is one pick taken at the scene....

Oh yea, here's a pretty nasty pic of what my knee looked like while I was sitting on the side of the road waiting on the ambulance....

dude lame, I went down going like 25-30, I'm just lucky I didn't hit a wall like you did. I walked away with a couple cheap breaks and scratched up covers and fairings. Beat up knee, and that was it. Sucks to hear man. I remember how I felt when I dropped mine.

Sorry to hear your accident. Hope you get your bike fixed soon and that rash looks like it took a nice chunk out of your knee

I hope you get healed quickly. Next time your "gear" might want to include leather pants. I went down at 35-40 a while back and didn't have a single scratch on my body.

yea, I'm definantly not riding again without some leather pants with the pads and stuff....if I would have had those, I wouldn't have a scratch on me....
Thanks for all the encouragement guys....I'll post some pics later on when I get it all fixed back up and some fresh paint on it....
thanks,
matt

Just saw this topic . . . . Sorry to hear dude. I went down at about 15-20 mph on a hairpin right cause of gravel. It really sucks!! My first time in 2 years . . . . . I walked away thank god, went down on the right in some dirt/dry weed crap . . . . just a bruised knee and minor scrape. I'm wearing leather pants for sure now :) Such a pain when it's hot though!! Bottom line is your OK and live to ride another day

Look forward to the pics, you doing anything different paint wise?

Kind of off subject but won't the insurance company cover the bike to get fixed? If you are full coverage...
