WHat does the speedo stop @ and what have yall topped out @

Just wandering what the speedo stops at and how fast some of yall have had it?

personaly my speedo (probly off some how) 152MPH.

was that all it had or did you stop?Iv had mine to 143 and it felt like it had alot more to go.

all i had. my front sproket is +1 tooth.also have Jet + full exhaust

. My friend had it up 145 and said it had alot to go and pulling hard but he is 100LBS under me. but when i get up to the top it has more RPM's just not the TQ/HP to push me there.

one of the days when I get some long open road Ill find out what mine tops out at.

I have a nice long freeway... It great 2Am no one there just kick it up and go. dont do it if i see cars but no one there i will do a speed test.

Also the bike im talking about is a F2 not sure if you got that from my sig.

no I didnt look even look at your sig. Yeah when I opened mine up there were absoulutely no cars. I shut it down as soon as I saw one though.

Have no idea what it tops out at. Had it reading 174mph. Wasn't topped yet but I ran out of usable road. What really impressed me was how quick it shot from 150mph to 174mph -- and I used to ride a turbo Busa so that's saying something. Honda really has their A-game on with the 1000RR.

Id love to ride with ya but Im in the Dallas/ Fort Worth TX area. If you ever plan on riding down here let me know. And yeah I ride year around. Its been pretty cold here but I still ride anyway.

chainstretcher- Did you do that on a 1000RR or an F4i?

Ya, hit it on the 1000RR. Haven't GPS'd it yet so I'm not sure how much error is in stock speedo. Busa was 7% fast stock. If CBR is the same then we're talkin 161.82mph. When I get another GPS I'll delve further into this subject and post what I find.

mine tops out about 105 MPH but the speedo says 170

what's sig?

i've got an 03 f4i and the speedo said 168.

Since we are talking about DIGITAL SPEEDO's I would imagine that the thing would read all the way to 999 if it could

i havnt had a chance to top mine out yet. theres too many deer out right now. i think ill wait till the perfect time.

mine is geared -1 +2 but I have had the speedo up to 178 before. And that wasnt even at the redline. Prob about 12K rpm's before I started coming up on traffic.

Well I think the guy that said 999 with a digital is right, but of course the bike won't do that. My 01 f4i redlines at 174mph, but I figure a 8% off being optimistic so I figure it does about 158mph.

I just bought an 01 F4i and the guy i bought it from said it would do 154 with him on it and he is about 75 lbs. more than me...so im thinkin a little above 160 for me, but i havnt had a chance to open it up..

just remember that speedo are only accurate ( vaguely) up to the legal limit, after that the speedo error is affected byu a few different elements such a tire slippage and its general calibration..so if you see 170 MPH and it is 10% off = 152 ACTUAL

I had my 02' F4i up to 153 before, and I feel it could have gone a little more!

02 f4i speedo read 164 @ redline.

BTW...there are different types of digital meters. Just because you have 3 digits speedo doesnt mean that all 3 digits go to 9. The first digit may only go to 1 or 2. The reason I know this is that I am going to school for electronics and we had to deal alot with digital components and displays. I could go into all the gorey details but you would get bored and wouldnt read it anyway.

When you start up an F4i or at least the 2001, the speedo flashes 180, then rapidly drops to 0. I would think that 180 is as high as it would go.

I weigh 170 lbs, and my 02 f4i maxed out at 167, but it had more on the tach to go. It was a flat road, and I only have a two bros high mount slilp on. I go to a local bike night all the time, and there are at least 10+ f4i's there on any given tuesday night. Never heard of one going over 180. But also, I don't know anyone crazy enough to turbo or nos their f4i, they usually save those for busas and big 12s. We take our f4is through the twisties, and I've never seen any need for too high of a max speed.
