I wear Joe Rocket 2 piece suit (leather), a Shoei TZR helmet and Alpinestars Gps3 boots. I also have a 2 piece textile suit i wear during cold weather riding and rain.

I'm new to bikes, though I have some time on a dirt bike, but only messing around with friends years ago...

I don't want to skimp on gear... I've already got an HJC helmet, but want gloves and a jacket at a minimum. If I have enough cash left for pants and boots, I'll get those as well. Anyone have any recommendations on good, safe gear that won't drain my bank account? I know... you get what you pay for, but I'm looking for real world advice on this.

Thanks!

um, they kinda fit weird. It seems they are intended to fit a bit low-rise, which for men is just a bit odd (especially considering it's supposed to protect you if you go down). I can't give a thumbs up to the Icon pants, at least not the Camo ones.

Doesn't matter to me if it's 30 or 90 degrees gloves, full face, jacket, and boots.

I went with the "it depends" answer....

Any time I am specifically going out to ride (vs commute), I typically wear my 2-piece leathers and Sidi boots, with the normal full face helmet and gloves. It it's REALLY hot here, I'll wear my Icon Timax mesh pants and jacket instead.

If I'm commuting, I typically wear jeans, my Sidi boots probably 50/50 of the time, and all the rest of my gear.

If it's cold (sub 55 degrees or so as a daily high), I wear my 1-piece Highland Fieldsheer suit with the liner, plus all other gear and winter gloves.

Helmet, Jacket (a black Joe Rocket or '06 Joe Rocket Honda jacket depending on weather), workboots, and gloves. I want to get a pair of real riding boots but can't find a place in my area that sells them.

I just wear a helmet, jacket, and work boots. I have been unable to find riding boots due to the size of my feet and pants are hard to find because of my size also. If anyone knows a good place to look for riding gear for tall people please let me know and I'll start wearing more.
