What is so special about the 05 06 repsol?

I believe the difference between a regular 1000rr and the repsol is the paint scheme but not positive

The only difference between the 05 Repsol and the other 05 CBR1000RR's is the paint and stickers, nothing else.

It is all the way it looks. It is the nices bike I have had And looks so damn good

yeah the only difference is the color scheme, but it looks so damn good. and it was only done for 05 and in limited numbers. id be more than happy to take one, or any 1000rr for that matter!

Like the others said, the paint, oh and the Vin numbers of course. Also a few stickers that are hidden, like the paint code under the passenger seat. Other than that, same great bike.

The Repsols have more power. I get 1 1/2 horsepower per sticker!

this is correct. but the stickers add weight to the bike which slow it back down. the end result is a bike that performs exactly the same as a regular 1000rr.

the bike looks cool with that paint scheme and graphix... but my local dealer wanted 8g's more... yeah right.

Your local dealer is leech... Did he ever get the 8K plus - don't feel sorry for anyone willing to pay it = they want it!!!
I had to wait awhile, but they're now going for $9,500 or a little more now - Thoroughly worth the wait and living in the Deep South gives me the op to ride all year. Actually got it from a Northern tier state owner, cold/snow tends to put a dampner on those poor fellas up North....

now correct me if iam wrong but Repsol is only a sponsor for motorcycle races. right? kind of like Camel?

If you don't know Repsol is an oil company and they are the sponsor for the main Moto GP class for the factory Honda team. There are three classes in Moto GP, the class are separated by engine size. Currently the main class runs 990cc engines, due to go down to 800cc in 2007. Then there is the 250cc and 125cc class. There are other teams that ride Hondas but are not ridden and worked on or paid for by Honda, hence they have other sponsers.
Repsol also sponsors teams in the 125 and 250 GP class. If you can watch Speed TV for both AMA and MotoGp motorcycle coverage for the best racing coverage currently offered. The racing season starts sometimes in March.

Haven't heard any laughter either. So far, numerous other riders have turned around and finally caught up with the Rep at the petro station or the Best Buy when I'm buying elecs... Either way they've always been wide eyed and asking how many were manufactured, where can they get one, and how much.... since they just don't see any of them around. Poser or not, everyone so far has been rather jealous to say the least about the look. Most Suzies age quickly, green is mean but average, Yami's and Honda's have the best graphics.... Too understand why individuals personalize their rides with awesome paint schemes and whatnot - read below! Hiside is green I'm guessing j/k!
In layman's terms. Would you rather have the same shirt, pants, shoes and wristwatch as 3 other guys at the club, or be posing looking slick as James Bond?

I think the fact that the Repsol stands out is pretty cool, I wouldn't pay the price for a "special edition" bike unless it performed better than it's counterparts. For instance I would pay extra for the new limited edition R1 over the regular R1 b/c it's a better bike. The Repsol is not better than the regular 1000's so I would not pay the extra dough, anybody who says they did not pay more for their Repsol is lying. Paying more for stickers is not my style, but if it's yours then more power to ya! Not hating, just giving my 2 cents

Cant speak for everyone but not everyone likes repsols, ( i love em) iwouldnt pay extra for a few stickers either,
anyways i did get mine for less about 4 grand less as it happens!
it pays to shop around as what u like another may hate the sight of,
and thems the deals that make u
