ok its starting to get cold and the tires starting to lose some pressure. i have NO idea what the pressure is suppose to be on front and back. i know some people like it to be softer for a good launch but i just want mine to be at a regular pressure like when i first got it.i have no idea what it is so any help in this area would be MUCH appreciated!!

Same with my '05. Just remember when you go to store it for the Winter...some people add a couple more PSI F/R and either put it on F/R stands or at least "roll" it every now and then or else you'll get "flat spots".

36/42 is fine for normal street use (i use lower though) but for track use you need to drop that down dramatically
as a matter of fact there is like a 3 page thread on 1000rr.net right now about tire pressure

Like Knightslugger stated: "Depends on the tires".

i have mine higher in the front than the rear, by one or tow lbs ussally. why are yours all so off 34-4x, that seems weird to me.

i do that for track riding
for my streetbike its simply a matter of gas mileage and tire life

it does but remember that is the maximum recommended by honda for the max load of the vehicle. its just like a race car. how many cars at the drag strip do you see running full pressure. not the NHRA i mean street tuning nights. none (well at least the smart ones anyway). the lower pressure causes the tire to heat up and grip better. purely for performance. on the street for straight line commuting you really dont need to drop the pressures lower than the 36/42 recommended. this will maxmize tire life and gas mileage but it will make the ride bumpy. in the canyons you can afford to drop them a little but you still arent going to need them as hot as you would on the track.
on the track if the tire doesnt burn you when you pull into the paddock, you either didnt ride it hard enough o there is too much air in the tire.
like a lot of things, it comes down to feel and personal preference. if 10F 10R feels perfect to you run it. likewise with 50/50.

I"ve always fill my tires to 34/36...works perfectly for me. I think 42 in the rear is way too much.
