Motol, Repsol... Whatever... 3100 i know is a popular choice. so is Repsol 4T. whichever you go with, use 10w30 or 10w40.

Mobil makes motorcycle specific oil; the oil you're going to want to get is Mobil One Racing 4T (used to be labeled Mobil One MX4T) which is specifically designed for high RPM applications in sport bikes with wet clutch designs. This oil is damn nice, I run it in one of my cars because it is that good (meets API SH/SG ratings) and it goes for about $9 a quart.

I am curious about this as well for my own application. The previous owner I bought my bike from was running Amsoil in the bike and since it is coming up on it's 4000 mile oil change (this is the first one under my ownership) I have been debating running Amsoil in it because that is what it has always had in it or switching to something I am more accustomed to working with and already trust (Mobil 1 Racing 4T). I have heard nothing but good things about Amsoil but since I have never presonnaly used it other than what is currently in the bike I am not sure if I just want to go with it because I know it is bad to switch oils or if I should just switch to the Mobil 1 I like and am familiar with and go with that from now on. Thoughts?

I read that article in the second posting... Do you guys or anyone you know actually put Delvac or Rotella-T in their bikes? I have put it in plenty of diesels in the past, but I guess I just never imagined putting it in a bike. Any thoughts?

I use the Rotella from Wally world. 16 bucks for 4 quarts or something like that. I have no problems with the clutch or gear box in any way. I do have a problem with paying 40 bucks for oil at the dealer. My next change will be Rotella with a Mobil 1 filter instead of OE.

I'm running the Rotella-T 5w-40 in all my bikes. I've got 2 F3's and 1000F. Bought the 1000F (a 94) with 14K miles on it 2.5 years ago. It's got 39K on it now. My wifes 97 (purple) we got 1.5 years ago with 15k miles on it and she's put 17K miles on it. My red 98 I got in Sep 07. Have put 5k miles on it. The Rotella is great. No slippage in the clutch and all of them are performing great. They're not RR's, but they're still CBR's

Yes. Like I said before, zero problems and the cost allows me to change it more frequently.

My mechanic swears by Motul
