I hate to nitpick, because one of my biggest pet peeves is people not using their blinkers, but it looked like the car was doing at least the speed limit (judging by the 46 mph on the camera bike's speedo). When they passed, they sped up to at least 60. AND they passed on a double yellow line. It also seems as though neither one of the bikers used their blinker, either. Of course, a simple glance in the rear view mirror by the car driver could have prevented this, especially after the first bike passed them. I think both parties are at fault with this one. Hope the guy's alright.

I think the biker might be a bit more at fault than the soccer mom...that was a pretty dumb place to attempt a pass.

yea i agree with you guys about it being more of the bikes fault, but still... it wouldnt have made the least bit of difference if it was a passing zone! I cant stand people who dont use there blinker ESPECIALLY when i am behind them and they just turn! like in this case.. and i am sure you guys have passed on a dubble line before too on your favorite road....i know i do when i get a car infront of me thats going under the speed limit on my favorite road! if it is too curvey that i cant see enough infront of me i will just pull over and wait for the car to get ahead... but the car using its blinker could have prevented it...

It was TOTALLY the bikers fault.
Go back and watch it again. Look at the street sign that shows a sharp 90 degree left hand curve coming up and follow the double yellow.
The van didn't make a turn without signaling. The van was just following the road!
The biker passed the van in the middle of a turn. What a dumbass!
100% NOT the van's fault and 1,000% the biker's fault.

LOL! I noticed the sign, but it didn't even register that it was indicating a 90 degree turn in the road...good eye dude!

Wow nice catch oldfatguy!!!!! I laughed REALLY hard after watching that and seeing the sign! It was a suckzookie (don't know who to give credit to for that word) so no wonder. That guy was an idiot he deserved that. Now if he was just going too fast and lost control and went down solo I'd feel bad for him but cmon passing on a double yellow especially when there are cars in the oncoming lane? Cmon use your head a little bit.
Mike
PS thanks for the laugh! =)
