Why does my ole '92 CBR 600 F2 have such a large chain (530)? It doesn't have the ponies to break it. Engineers doing some wishful thinking when it came out? I heard today from a friend that I could get smaller sprockets and chain. Is he correct? I just got a new X ring chain a couple weeks ago and today ordered new sprockets on his suggestion, not from sponsors here, they don't have stock, or have poor sites, or you can't buy online from them.
the shop owners will give you a hell of a deal just for making that call.
I have. They d.i.d.

It is not just about breaking it, it has to with lifespan as well..the 520 conversion is available but it will not last as long...
as a sponsor, I can say that the parts you wanted, even if not in stock, only take 1 day to round up and then send off to you...

Well I could have been a little more patient. One sponsor only had a phone number (long distance) or I could have emailed. I work out of town so I would not have heard until a week later and the other I didn't research enough I see. A couple other things, I wasn't sure which size sprocket I needed or a good brand, so I was searching online for more info. I'm bad. Thanks for a response.
