wont start

any tips on starting a cold bike , i think it ran out of gas  filled it back up,,,,nothing  IT cranks and wants to start,, still nothing it backfires but nothing  I probably need to check the breather hoses it just acts like no gas is getting to the carbs.. any tips????

Start with the easiest/cheapest things and work your way up-

the most basic questions (and I am not trying to insult you) this happens to be some of the easiest things to overlook
-kill switch?
-full choke?
-in nuetral?

also- if you have a trickle charger- make sure your battery is completely charged- that was why my 900rr didn't start after a long winter (but the lights still came on and it turned over)

Only other piece of advice, turn the choke on, hit the button, wait till it starts. Don't try & start it by using the throttle, your just flooding the engine at that point

Just say "No!" to starting fluid.

found breather hose loose on bottom of airbox... still wont start Ill give it awhile then pull the plugs and see if one fowled out thats my nest guess.

Breather hose came off flooded the engine foulded all the plugs trying to start it,,,, change plugs tightened everything,,,, Needless to say good to go  runs like a Honda.... strong as ever...Thanks for the input...
