Won't turn over

I put my bike up for the winter and I went and started it a couple time and it turned over like a champ. I let it sit for a month and now it won't start is it the battery or what? And how easy is it to get to the battery?

definately check the battery. its a breeze to get too. grab yourself a 10mm socket and on either side of the seat, closest to the passenger seat you'll find two bolts. go ahead and take those out (be sure not to drop'em down in there, common sense lol) and there should be some kinda computer box thing there. go ahead and lift that up and you'll see two round tabs. pull those up and you have just accessed your battery. toss a charger on that bad boy and be sure to let it run for a bit. maybe take the bike out since its been so long and run that old gas out and fill'er up w/ some good new stuff. just make sure if you arent going to winterize, pull that battery, get a battery tender, or start it up regularly to let'er run.

Thanks that's what I was told but I just wanted to check also have you ever had your start button on your bike stick when it's cold?

not at all. im leaving for work sometimes in single digits and i havent had that problem once.

also just for a note: letting the bike sit running @ idle will NOT charge the electrical system. it needs to be above 3k rpms i believe. so once it gets warmed up take her out and ride it.

I think revs have to be above 4.5K - 5K for good charging. Or maybe it's me liking the sound of my scorpion above 5K?

Get a battery tender or another charger/maintainer. It'll help you from having this problem, also running a battery to zero is bad for it. I did it a few times and my battery only lasted 14months/6500miles in my 06. 
 
If it ain't the battery, check the fuses, but it sounds like the battery.

I noticed my start button sticking last weekend when I started and serviced my bike. I didn't think much of it. Just figured it was cold. Maybe we need to clean them out, maybe some gunk in there.
