VP, Man I am Sorry Dude.  I worry about mine being locked up in the garage.  I even wake up in the middle of the night sometimes and go check on her.  I would park it in the f*$%ing Living Room if My Wife would let me!  Man I really do hope that you get your bike back, but I am sure that the cops told you it probably is not going to happen.  I will keep an eye out for those parts.  I hope that you are back on two wheels again real soon.  Everything happenes for a reason, and you might end up with something better.  Keep your head up!

hey everybody,

I made a pretty quick sign and put it up on everybody's mailbox in the building hoping maybe somebody out walking their dog or having a smoke saw something, so maybe in the next day or two I'll hear something...

on a lighter note I spoke with my insurance guy today and told him about all the parts I had on it that I'd bought from eBay and people on here and he said not to worry about receipts, they would reimburse 80% of the value of the part as long as I had it on my itemized list of parts I'd put on there.

as if yesterday didn't suck enough for me some asshole at work called out so I had to work 8 AM to 930 PM today with a 20 minute break for "lunch" at 7 PM...I laughed it off though so no worries... just wanted to call that guy an asshole anonymously

yeah I talked to the guy... seriously doubt it was him... he's a marine/ex-cop who couldn't have been more helpful when I asked him to fill out the police report

I think it was yourself and your collecting insurance money.   Thanks for the increased rate.   Jackass!

I was farting around with one of the circle locks, the ones everyone recommends for storage units and stuff cause they're hard to break into.   I managed to get one to fit on my front rotor.

There's a 954 for sale on Valdosta Craigslist.  It's got fresh show paint.  Usually they will paint the bike in a crazy color and/or replace the gauges and take off recognizable parts so as to throw you off then sell it somewhere close by.  I don't know what else you had done to it, but if you could recognize it somehow or if he had removed the vin plate for "looks" or has title stories, it might be worth looking into.  I don't know how they do it down there, but they like to ship bikes out of here to Detroit or Cinci and sell them complete after a makeover.  Put 1000 in, get 7000 back, I guess.  It would be kind of quick though, since it was just stolen on the 6th and usually they wait a couple weeks to try and unload it.  Anyway, good luck with finding it.  And sorry to here about this, but on the bright side, at least you get to go bike shopping!!

I'm in the Duluth\Norcross\Lawrenceville area and will keep my eye out for your bike...  I was just in Atlanta's Craiglist and found this, it's dated on the 6th:

That freaking sucks man.  I actually parked my bike outside tonight (And is still out there) with the key in it.  But I live in a home that is in a decent neighborhood(With a billion dogs roaming around).  Plus my bike doesn't even look like it run.  I will remember to not just show up at home and leave for the house.

Hopefully if you find it in 1000 peices you'll find the guy who stole it in a 1000 too.  (Which happend to a friend's buddy who had his bike stolen).

I also know another guy who watched his CBR1000 get tossed into the back of a truck by 4 guys in front of him whle coming out of a pool hall.  Alarm going and all.

Once I get my bike completed I'll probably throw the "redneck" lowjack on.  I'll have to find out how to do that again.  Many say it works better than Lowjack.

well I feel like one giant asshole but I went and looked at bikes today... sat on the ZX 10, GSXR 1000 and 750 and on the 08 600RR ...then I sat on the new 08 Busa and B-King...

Nothing felt quite right... even the 600RR felt heavy compared to my 954...

BTW the B-King could quite possible be the biggest thing that has ever existed lol

Even if you have to park the thing at a friends house who has a garage, do it. It may seem like a hassle to drive over there when you want to ride, but at least your bike will be there when you want to ride. I've never had a bike stolen from me. I have had to park my bike outside before and have worried about shit like this happening. Get the word out. Tell anyone and everyone you know. Offer a reward for the bike if someone finds it. Then turn their asses into the cops. I had this happen once to a custom snowboard. I put the word out on the street and the stupid kids brought it back. I told them to give me their name and phone #. I told them I would give them the reward after I notified the authorities that my stolen property was recovered. The cops went and questioned them and the kids gave the cops two different stories. Busted. Do the same with your bike. Keep your hopes high and it just might turn up.

Hey don't feel bad... you gotta do something to keep your sanity, right?  Sometimes I even catch myself at the dealer looking at new bikes and pondering, but then look out the window and see my baby sitting there..... nah, just can't do it.

Are you sticking to the inline 4's?  Or considering twins too??  Cuz the RC-51 is a badass bitch too!  A little chunky but torquey as all hell!!  It's a pimp'n ride fo sho!   I may just have one as a 2nd bike in the semi-near future... we'll see!

If you are desperate there is a 954rr for sale at a KTM dealership in Loganville which looked like your baby.  Still not yoru baby but better than nothing.

I'd check local junkyards too.

Just curious but when someone steals a bike (Who has stolen bikes/cars before) what do they do usually?  Do they just tear it down and part it out or do they actually rework Vin numbers or do something with Titles?

Depends on who stole it, and the location as well.  If this was down in south Florida, more than likely it would have already made it's way down to either Port Everglades or Port of Miami and onto a container ship on it's way to south America.  Same thing with many cars that are stolen down there, especially Hondas/Toyotas/ect.  But often times too they'll have a chop shop where they just strip them down and sell the parts.  Or modify the VIN and re-sell it.  They're all a bunch of scumbags whatever method they use.  I hope they all get tortured for a long long time, and then when they're truly insane... kill 'em!

Man that really sucks.... It's too bad the following story didn't happen in your case but it may bring a smile to your face anyway....
In '02 I went out for a night of drinking, came home at 1:00 or so and went to bed......  about 3:00 I was woke up by both the phone ringing and someone pounding on my door.... The police were at my door and a dispatcher was calling me....  I threw some clothes on and went outside...  I had 6 bikes in my garage at the time.  4 were mine and 2 belonged to friends.  2 bikes had been dragged out of my garage and were laying on their sides 2 were knocked over in the garage and one was sitting right where I had parked it....  I was still half asleep and half drunk..... The cops were cool about it though..  They asked how I got home, I told them a friend dropped me off, they asked for a name and I told them....  Cops can tell if you're lying and I wasn't......

Anyway, I'm standing in my driveway talking to a couple of cops while one cop is dusting for prints....  I couldn't believe they were actually taking fingerprints...  Then it occurrs to me that one bike is missing.... I couldn't believe I didn't notice that.  One cop thought it was pretty funny.... He said some thing to the affect of "I remember those nights"   The missing bike was my '01 929.  I had done a ton of stuff to it...chrome wheels, second looks seats, red micron pipe undertail, red tach.....the list goes on...  i was trlling one cop about this and explaining it would be very easy to pick out as there wasn't another one like it around.   He was filling out a report snd I went in to get the title so I could get him a vin number.  When I walked back out, I heard the dispatcher say that Marion County Sheriffs (not the department I was dealing with) had just reported a chase with a red motorcycle that ended when the motorcycle 10-50'd.... My cop asked for the location and the dispatcher told him...  I called a friend and we headed over there...  The crash happened near a warehouse that has a big parking lot...  the road was all blocked off but were were able to sneak into the blocked area through the back of the parking lot....  I walked up to a couple of cops that were standing there talking and explained why I was there... by this time it's after 6:00 and I'm for the most part sober.... The cop was cool with me being there and pointed me in the direction of the bike....  I walked around the side of a police car and saw what was left of my bike....  He had gone off the shoulder in an "S" curve and hit a culvert which sent the bike flying into a pole then it tumbled for a while and came to rest easily 100 yards from where it went off the road.  The bike looked like it had been hit by a train.  I asked about the guy riding it...  I assumed it might be someone I know because I don't really advertise what's in my garage....  But it wasn't.
The cop I was talking to told me the guy was alive but in pretty bad shape.  They made a quick mention of it on the news but didn't mention the bike being stolen or the rider's name....  They covered that a few days later in the paper and included a picture... I think it was from a previous arrest.
Word got around about this and I found out the guy (who was 20 years old) had broke his back and was paralyzed from the waist down....  I never forgot his face or name (James Debrune)....  About a year ago, I was at a boat show and saw this guy in a wheelchair that looked like him....  I asked if his name was Debrune... and he corrected me on the pronunciation.... Then I said "guess there's no way you'll be doing that again"  he looked confused and I said "It's going to be hard to steal another one of my bikes since none of them have wheelchair lifts" (I mean no disrespec
