Just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Adam and I live in Westerville, OH a suburb of Columbus. About two weeks ago I bought an 05 CBR600rr in Tribal Black. Its been about 12 years since I've ridden daily and that was on a slightly modified CB400F. If you know what they are then you know along with the RD350 they were amongst the first attempts for the the Japan factorys at introducing sport bikes to America. They had low bars and forward controls. To show my age at 19 and 20 I used to sell bikes in the late 80's at a Honda dealer here in Columbus and remember riding the CBR600 Hurricain when it first came out.

I've always liked motorycles but recently I've been taken aback by everything I've been reading and seeing and I knew I had to get back into it. I bought the 05 to regain my riding skills, like I ever had any ;-), by riding around town and going to a riding school and a couple of track days. The ultimate goal is to give 600 to my wife and then maybe go for a liter bike. If it all works out this will happen next year. I might just buy another CBR600rr since everything I've read tells me they are more fun and better for flicking around town then the 1000. I plan on doing the typical upgrades to the 600 with the first being a fender eliminator kit. After that a slip on so I they can hear me coming. I am also interesed in learning some moderate stunting which might seem funny coming from a married 36 year old with two kids.

I have read may of the posts already and feel confident that I have a place to get answers to all of my questions.

I'm real glad I found the forum and I hope to particpate often.

Adam

Welcome to the group old timer!!
I am not so young myself...and I too have worked (managed) a Honda Dealership and now I own my own store (non-franchised)...APEX MOTORSPORTS.
I also remember the old Hurricane, cuz "even the Ninja must hide from the Hurricane.... " I even have had a few of those things..
I currently ride a CBR1000RR, but have MANY BIKES including CBR600F (2)/F2 (3)/F3 (1)/F4 (2)/F4i and CBR900RR, R1, YZF600 (2) FZ1, FZ600(2), FZ700(3), FZR600 (4), FZR1000 (5) Ninja 900 (5) EX500 (2), Ninja 250 (2), Ninja 750, Katana 600, Katana 550,Bandit 400, SV650, and 4 YSR50's...and a Honda Rebel, CH150 Scooter, Yamaha Riva 200 scooter, and I am sure I am missing a few....
I am married and have 2 chillen's as well..I do wheelies and stoppies but not the extremeas "true" stunters
Too bad you are to far away ( I live in N. Calif) otherwise we can do some riding together.
Anyway..enjoy the site

Thanks for the quick reply and welcome Limpz. I envy all of you out west and down south who have better weather to ride. Currently we are getting a lot of T-Storms pass through the area but that should pass in June. That is truely a lot of bikes you've had in your past and I'm sure you have many miles of riding each.

Hello and welcome to the boards. I'm not so young myself. I'll be 32 this year. Glad you got back into the sport and are planning on making it a family sport.
