I have an 02' f4i and I've been cleaning it with car soap and water and using a shammy to dry.Now my frame has a white residue on it like it's fading. Is there anything I can use to bring back the color?

Get a little mineral spirits from sherwin williams if you have one near you. If not its just a really mild paint thinner. It will clean off the residue without softening the powder.
