Hi, I don't think you'll find any differences between the two. It should be a straight bolt in deal. I bought an '87 factory service manual for my '88 model, haven't come across any differences yet working on my bike. You may even be able to go all the way to the last of the carbureted models in the cbr1000's, and find that they may well interchange. A motorcycle salvage yard should be able to tell you what years interchange for sure. Good luck. Bob
