Hi all,
I have a quick question on your opinions on my situation.
Was getting ready to take out my 96 for the first time this season ( I know it's late!)
started her up and noticed that she is not running right.
I hear exhaust pops while revving her up and she really can't keep an idle.
It sounds like one of my carbs may be clogged.
I'm assuming that this is what it may be since the plugs were fine when I ended riding last season and they have only 5k miles on them.

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to unclog the floats???

Could that be just old gas. Easy to try, fill her up with new gas and try again.

Don´t forget to drain the old gas from the carbs using the screws on the bottom of each carburator.
If you collect the gas in a bottle you can see if there is some water in it.

Would water get into the gas if it's been garaged during the winter and hasn't seen any rain?
Fastest way to drain the gas would be how?
I'll look into draining the carbs, thanks!

If the fuel tank was not full during the winter there could be condensation.
Water is heavier then fuel and the first thing that goes in to the carbs is the water that gets stuck in the bottom of the carbs.
Note that we are talking about small drops of water.

Edit
If the fuel is from last year I think it is not necesarry to replace it.
It should still be ok.

I think I'll let her run to burn up most of the fuel and put in some fresh gas w/ carb-fuel injector cleaner.
