Dang sorry to hear, a buddy of mine had his 600RR stolen a year or two ago, same scenario. He was I believe at a local plaza eating with some friends, came out and it was gone. Police never found it... I'm new to bikes cause I've always been a Honda Car type of guy and know how that scene works when Civic's/Integra's get stolen. But what would people do with a stolen bike? Sell for parts as well? If so thieves deserve to get their hands cut off with a dull knife.

Yeah normally thieves just part them out and make money out of it. Or who knows, maybe turn it into a track bike lol.

Any real thief who knows what they're doing will not care if you have an alarm. They just throw it in the back of a truck, alarm sounding and all. If they really want it, they will take it. I got my scorpio alarm just for peace of mind hoping I'll wake up if it goes off. I park the bike outside my window and use my disk lock everytime I'm home. Lojack sounds like a good idea but I thought there was a monthly fee or somethin......?

i have the scorpio too... but it came to my mind, are you aware that the remote unit is sold separetly? that means any remote can control the alarm if it existed, as far as the thieves are concerned, which in regards to the producer, it doesn't help protect their customers bikes, but like u said, if they want it they'll find a way, even buying the whole scorpio set would still be made up from othe bike afterall, but still need to verify if its true that any remote can control all, i doubt it.

For cars, pop the doors open, pop the hood open, pop off the battery cables, cut any extra cabling not part of the main two, if not there check under the steeering column for odd color/outta the norm wire, cut, connect battery cables, start engine drive off...alarm should be dead...should take less than 5 minutes. No I n'ver stole a car b4, I just install them stupid useless car alarms. The best type for any motorize vehicle is the remote kill switch, that's about the only protection system u should get besides Full coverage. My wish list is a remote - detonation unit for my motorize vehicle. Explodes your toys anywhere anytime if stolen.
