Can anyone help me i have a cbr 600 1998 my chain snapped and rapped around the front sproket it broke 2 teeth and casins around the front sproket i have replaced both sprokets and the chain now there is a knocking sound until you pull the cluch in but it go's into all gears easy and rides fine but with this knockin i am not to sure what damage has been done can anyone shine some like on this please

Does it only knock while you're going? I mean in neutral with the clutch out it doesn't knock, right? Could be a bent shaft -- possibly a bearing bit it when the chain broke. How'd you get the cases repaired -- did you pull the engine?

No it knock's when the cluch is out even in neutral but now i have found that the water pump is broken when i removed it the shaft that drives it has snaped at the end so i will change that and then see what happens finger's crossed but the sump has got to come off to find that piece of metal that is roaming round in there

well i have droped the sump and the block which holds the waterpump drive and the oil pump drive has snapped so it looks like i need a new engine gutted but can anyone tell me if a Honda CBR600 FX/FY Engine will fit into my fw

Sorry bout that -- don't know about the ease of fitment with a different engine. Of course with a little imagination you can make anything fit.
