yeah thats on speedo.. even with the healer its not accurate.. at 9800 rpm the bike could never pull those speeds.. mine is at 13k at goes a real 185mph on radar/gps..

i havent done anything except twist the throttle on a straight road and hope for the best but i will correct the tahc reading if im not mistaken it was at or near the red line so i apologize for that but i know it was reading 187 mph. and no i was not running from a hurricane but if there were one behind me i wouldve been going a hell of a lot faster than that hahahahaha. my next attempt is to try and break 200 mph.

From what I have read the 06 has more HP thab the 04 or 05 so it maybe possible for them to be just a tad faster.

yea the 06 does have more HP but the gearing is slightly different. thats why its able to have more pull down low and hit the same top end. But the one thing that all the 1kRR's sport is a bad azz design! love these bikes.... I think the red and black is a touch faster thou.

yeah 06 is up a few on HP but nothign major.. i was under the impression the speedo on 04-06 only ready to 186mph.. i have never seen an higher number than 186 on my 06.. until i get beat on my bike by any other color RR ill have to stick with my belief that straight black like the stealth is the fastest color.. LOL

Once you reach the top secret high speed on a black bike, some of the black starts to peel off and reveals the red. That's how you know the bike has been driven fast, it's red and black.

yea OldFatGuy that is correct. I spoke with Mr. Honda yesterday (hes' my neighbor) he confirmed that red and black were at one time all black and they turned out to be the fastest. And he also confirmed what deezuhl said 186 is all that the black ones can do, after 186 you will start seeing the red come through. Deezuhl i would love to tell you what the red and black can do on top end but I know you have spent alot of money and dont want you to trade that beautiful bike for the Red and Black. Its ok Deezuhl you bike is still sweet.

red and black is the only other color i would honestly even sit on.. the blue and yellow has to be the worst idea IMO for a honda.. leave that flashy BS for yamaha..

well i must admit that i wanted the black but they were out.... I got the red and black and really happy that i did. when i got mine i got one for my buddy that was silver and i think its sweet too(sorry to change the subject)

Deezuhl what was the biggest HP gain and top end speed mod that you did? excluding exhaust. wheels?

well the biggest gain i saw besides exhaust was the hrc ecu.. when it all came together tho is with the hrc intake,tuning, and cam gear adjustment.. the bike picked up about 8-9mph... btw the wheels arent much lighter than stock.. the rear is 2lbs lighter and the front is the same..

but once you really start to got fast the red starts to peel back and shows up silver. love my silver/blk. and i love the colors on the blue/yellow. why leave the flashy stuff for yamaha? honda's look sweet in flashy colors. especialy from the mirror of my red/blk R1. LOL

Deezuhl i was thinking about the BST carbon wheels. but if you only lost 2 lbs that means the BSTs would only drop about 3. I dont know if thats worth it. could u tell a diff with your wheels?

the bst wheels are much lighter than mine.. mine areent magnesium they are forged aluminum.. the only reason i didnt go with bst wheel is they just dont stand out like gold.. if you can afford the BST's and dont mind black wheels i would go for them hands down. the bike will be like a whole new animal.. i could feel a little difference with just 2 lbs the BST wheels must be nuts..

btw i had magnesium wheels on my busa and it was amazing the difference.. i would look into the dymag carbon magnesium.. the center is magnesium and comes in any color and the outer is carbon.. if there wasnt a long wait on those i would have gotten them.

will those carbon mag be safe for the street? and why do you recomend the Dymag over the BST?

carbon ones should be fine for the street. the rating show they are stronger than magnesium and i have used magnesium on the street no problem. im not recommending the dymag over the BST i just think you get the best of both worlds. with the dymags you could get the center gold so they stand out and people actually notice the rims from a distance yet they are carbon on the outer sides.. its a 2 piece wheel.

deez, how stable is your bike at that speed. Almost everyone I know that has 'top end' bikes has extend the swingarm....is yours extended too?
