Hi Folks.Just thought I'd say Hi and show off my steed. She's a 1989 CBR1000FK which I bought crash damaged for £750 with 20000 miles.I managed to get hold of some panels and, although she's far from mint,I feel she's quite respectable.
These bikes are amazing. To be honest,I wasn't expecting much after the Blackbird I had before(she had to go to make mortgage payments when I wasn't working),but i'm sooo impressed.Hugely underrated bike if you ask me.When I get my next 'Bird,I think I'll be keeping this,as she brings a smile to my face whenever I throw a leg over.

Hello
Nice bike!
I also have a -89 but different colors.
Could you please post a closer picture of the silencer.
Also like R1000 I like to know the place of the photo.

They are a beautiful bike to ride smooth and sheer power and go around a corner like its on a rail mine is a 92 model and I have been off bikes for the past 25 years but she was very forgiving to me and made me look as if I knew what I was doing easily.

Cheers guys.the pic was taken just outside a town called Weymouth on the south coast of England. We're so lucky to have all this on our doorstep. The roads are superb too,if a little clogged with caravans in the summer.

waz57.I'm lovig the Black/Red paint scheme. Was thinking of doing it to mine.

rhino 94.The exhaust is a Nexxus 4 into 2 stainless system made by Motad.I believe it's still available. They cost around £550 here in the UK.I was lucky enough to already have this on when i bought the bike.

MC, Quite respectable!!!!!!!! the early hurricanes, sure remind me of Bimoto SB1's... look one up!!!!!!!! I'm partial to the R/W/B paint scheme,as it reminds me of my 84 1000f interceptor, was57's cbr looks great, in red and black too. Oh, i do love 'em... Clean and free, Ripp'n

Thanks for the kind words on my CBR, the colour scheme looks kind of fast / modern I think, even for an old fart of 49. My wife untill the other day had not been on a bike for a lot of years and was scared by the rider then. but after two outings on the CBR, SHE LOVES IT !!! she has said how smooth and comfortable as we are both over 6 feet me being 6" 3 and her being 6" looks like we are about to embark on a new passion together.

thanks everyone for the kind comments.I checked out the Bimota SB1 and I see what youy mean.Red/White does look good.Very retro.Still like the modern look of the Red/black as well though.Hmmmm...Decisions,decisions!
