Hey all,
I recently got my tail end run over down at Deal's gap TN... I slid out in a hairpin, and a large truck was coming the other way. OUCH. It wrecked (ran over) my back end... pretty bad. But, I was wearing leathers, so I'm okay... :)

Anyway... My subframe is fine, but the plastic (that holds the tail light, is also storage, and is where the plastic above the tail light attaches) is crushed in half. I was wondering if anyone would know if it's possible to retrofit a newer tail, say F4, or F4I on a 98 F3? I wouldn't mind getting a fresher look, and possibly the easier storage of the seperate passenger seat. I know it's not going to match up exactly, but anyone have an opinion on weather or not it's do-able? I'd think one could fabricate something up. .. ? If you don't think so, anyone know of good aftermarket tail that might work?

Hey there,

I'm new here, but I've been floating around other forums for awhile now. My reply to your question is not exactly the one you were probably looking for, but it is a possible solution.

I have recently changed my storage/license plate holder/tail light mount to a fender eliminator. I'd be willing to sell you my old one which has only been modified to mount the tail light, license plate, and be used as storage. I shaved it down originally when I got the integrated tail lights. I'd sell it to you for say $30 if you are interested. It's off my 1998 F3.
