Ok guys. I just purchased a 97 f3 the other day and i finally took it out on the road for the first time today. I noticed that in first and second gear i cant accelerate past about 6000 RPM. It feels like the bike is hitting a rev limiter or something. Now take into consideration i am completely new to bikes. I am an acura tech at the local dealership, but when it comes to bikes, i am really green. So is this normal. I figured it might be a factory deal to protect the engine or something, but i wasnt sure. Any help is appreciated.
