i own a CR250 and a CRF450 punched out to a 480cc which i race supermoto with...ive also ran jeff wards the US CHAMPION supermoto bike 3x, mine will smoke it in a straight line...ive got a bottle of n20 and i promise i could put a fight to ur 600RR my roomate has a 04 gsxr600 and i can smoke him for a few gears off a stoplight no prob but we've never ran longer, in a quarter mile i'd say you'll have him but only at the end....and you better stay on the hammer because hes gonna smoke you off the line if he knows what hes doing. ive been riding pro class motocross for a number of years.... if your 16 you dont have those years behind you, A...be careful ....B dont get caught doing this race! C....dont loop your bike over when u get frustrated watching him pull you off the line, cause im sure he will. It sounds like you shouldn't have made this bet.... usually someone who races supermoto has experience enough to have already done enough motox to try somethin new...the same kinda person that will make use of every single bit of power a bike has to offer....if i was you i'd back out....best of luck

If you have any skill at riding a bike desent then you will have no problem. The 450 will top out so damn fast he doesn't stand a chance. Like they said he will kick you as$ on the line but doesn't stand a chance in the quarter mile. My friend has a 450 and if is built up a little bit. He rides 250A class and I have a 600F3. I am a 125B rider. We have dragged them down the road a couple times. By the time I hit about 60mph and shifted to second I was with him. By the time I was at the end of a quarter mile he was not even close. Even if his gearing was different and he had street tires on he still would have no chance. A quarter mile is very long. To long for any motocross bike.

Dude, your 16, ON a 600RR.... You can't fold to peer pressure. This bike CAN kill you very easily if you havent had much time on it..... SO I suggest save it for another day, ITS not woth $500, Your LIFE that is... GET more time, more out of life before you get stupid on a HELL of a machine! Just some advice from an OLDER guy! BEE safe!

I say with full leathers (or at least over the ankle boots, gloves, a leather jacket and riding pants of some kind), on at a controlled drag strip tell him to bring it on.

I hope your not one of those who races with tennis shoes, jeans, a wife beater and maybe a helmet at the local wear house complex at 3 in the morning.

who's this dude that wants to race you? hopefully someone you know that is just talking sh*#...go for a ride together...somewhere where you have a straight and just crack it hard in 2nd and he'll learn who's the man...

on the flip side...I just got my as5 handed to me...rode on the dirt for the first time on a little 70...went down so many times trying to keep up with the dude riding a 50...FUN and totally out of my element

you can show him with class that he is out of his element

I would have thought most people on this site would be around 18-28 years of age. But from what I hear it seems like most are 30+. Whats your age?

If what you say is true, that most of us on the forum are older and in our 30's, I say it is because the mean income for our age range is finally high enough to be able to "smartly" afford toys like motorcycles. I also believe, as a whole, our generation was the first to grow up with the internet and use it to compliment our hobbies. Back when I was younger, about 14, I remember using my Apple IIe and a modem to dial up an individual computer in order to access someone’s “bulletin board”. We didn't even call them forums then.

Unfortunately, age does not guarantee that people will use proper spelling and grammar.

Ok, well by looking at the date when this post was started almost a year now. so i guess the real question is did you race the crf 450 and by the looks of it 600rr rider hasn't even posted anything in awhile. so is he still on the forum?

Yeah, I sometimes get very lazy when it comes to grammar. This usually happens after working 12 hour days. It is embarrassing I must admit. Also I went to Columbus public schools in Ohio. The only thing I learned there was to send my kids to private school.

By the way I edited my earlier post so now this one and yours don’t make sense.

c45, you are right, the last post by this guy was when he replied to this subject on 12/07/04. I hope he didn't loose the race in the biggest way possible.

If you don't take this bet let me know I'll take his money if he's near PA on my bone stock 03 RR. He needs his a$$ handed to him for being an idiot and talking numbers rather than talking about smootheness, form adn learning over being an idiot but I'll bite an be an idiot long enough to take his money. Again tell him I'm in PA and I'll travel just to video it and let you all watch....
