No major problems really. If it's a 2004 (early) make sure the speedo was recalled/replaced. If not, and if it IS defective, make sure you read up on this and know whats going on. If it WAS replaced, make sure you get the REAL mileage from the owner. Service records don't lie. Don't take the ODO reading as gospel. Know that the 1000RR engine is very noisy. At first it sounds like all the valves are clacking and ticking. This is normal. Most ppl belive it's the injectors making the noise. Alot of the 600RR's smoked. My 1000RR used to smoke a bit when it was newer, but not even a hint now. A "little" smoke on a hard throttle blip on a newer bike wouldn't freak me out. I wouldn't like it but don't panic. Because of the floating rotors, the front brakes will drag a little and sound like something is warped. It probably isn't. Some people reported discoloring of the fairings on the RH side where the Radiator overflow hose is. Also check for cracks around the back mounting holes of the mid fairing. Other then that, just use your commen sense.
