Here are pics of the Hurricane when I first got it and added the sides with zip ties and then painted blue.

I used spray can and spray clear, I ordered a decal set for it and once I put them on I want to get a real clear coat and spray over the decals. I bought the paint from Discount Auto Zone.
I just wish I had those side panel inserts and that the plastics fit a little better but it works for me. I love it. Runs great and a blast to ride and I haven't even opened her up yet.

THanks
B

since you painted it with spray paint, and there is no true clear coat (yet) be very careful with gas and other solvents, as it will eat that paint right off. i should know, my bike is also spray painted(not for long) and my fuel petcock doesnt work very well...DOH!

I know what you mean. Some fuel spilled out of my petcock too when I was putting the tank back on. I should have put the tank on first DOH! but I'll sand it out and clear over it and shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks for the remarks. I should be getting the decal kit soon. Will post more when I do.

Time to use a hacksaw and cut about 8" off that mismatched stock endcan's midpipe. That should shorten it up to around stock & work much better for the rear end.

+1 on watching out for gas on the spray-can job... I've made that mistake before. If you get any on it, let it evaporate off (wipe it and it will ruin the paintjob)

Sometimes it is nicer having an old beater that you don't have to worry about. You aren't afraid to drop it in a corner, or to leave it in some parking lot unattended.

Dumping alot of money into a bike just makes you paranoid.

Yeah, that exhaust is one of the stock cans from my Busa. I just threw it on because the one that came with it was basically hollow and was like not having an exhaust on it. Was way too loud. I just ordered a stock can from ebay. Will probably need to repack it but at least it won't be so loud. The Busa can is too quiet and I think it might be too much on the engine.

So I got my decal set today and put it on. Now I just want to put a final clear coat over the whole thing. The real clear coat stuff this time.
