Hello,
I am looking to purchase a new windscreen for my bike(02 CBR600 F4i) but want a NON-TRANSPARENT/GLOSS BLACK windscreen. What I would like to confirm before I order is that the Puig windscreen that is listed as black in color is indeed BLACK and not dark tinted/slightly transparent.

Thanks,
-John

They arn't a 50$ item... but are super quality materials, and these guys get it right, w/ scores of testimonials... Opaque black -3", for me please!!!! clean and free, Ripp'n

Why don't you just paint your stock windscreen? I had my reservations about it at first but it turned out awesome! I guess I was worried about getting a good color match - I did silver instead of black so I wanted it to blend nicely. Turned out BAD ASS!

All I did was buy some RC car paint from the hobby shop, remove the screen, clean it really good, sand it with a fine grit sandpaper then apply like 4 or 5 coats of paint to the BACK SIDE of the screen. That thing really looks good. It's glossy (because it's under a few millimeters of clear plastic) and since I bought metallic paint it's even nicer. I've had a custom decal on the front of the screen for a couple years too and now with the paint on the back it looks like it's hovering there.

Try it man, you won't be disappointed.

Danny - I will do my best to get a couple shots for you tonight (post 2morrow). I was worried about the "cheesiness" too, but it turned out better than I expected. - JJK

Puig Windshields are (in my opinion) the best on the market. You will have made a great decision if you go with one! I can not help you one the "how black is black" issue (have a clear double bubble so there are no visibility issues), but I can attest to the quality of their product. None of that extra mounting holes everywhere so they can sell it for 10 bikes crap. Each bike windshield is made to fit one bike exactly, and only one model of bike. The air pocket created by the double bubble series is amazing, and a great upgrade for any bike. You will notice the difference immediately, plus the gauge cluster is way easier to see.

Just my .02

1999 CBR F4
Michelin Pilot Powers
Suspension stiffened to race setting (holy crap, what a difference!)
Vortex Lightweight Drive sprockets, OEM gearing (front and rear)
RK 525XSO race chain
K&N airfilter
Puig Race Windshield (again, what a difference!)
added clearance plate to stock muffler

*making brackets (6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum) to move rear-sets up and back 1"

Haven't had any "legal" problems because of the windscreen. Only problems I have with 5-0 are because of A) riding too damn fast and B) having my license plate mounted on my rear tire axle Actually I've only been stopped once because of the plate but only because he couldn't see where it was. Once I pointed it out to him he was cool.

Rumble - That's exactly what it is. If you look at some of the other pics in my gallery, you'll see a couple custom made Mindcrime logos on each fairing. Painting the wind screen really made that big logo "pop" though... it looks even better now.

Feel free to PM me if you've got other ?'s... thanks bro.
