i got my first scratch today......

it really sucks, i am bummed out.....

i was doing my 600mi service myself in the drive way.....
anyways, i dont have a oil filter wrench so i did what any self-respecting-wanna-be-honda-mechanic-person would do:

SHOVED A DAMN PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW DRIVER THRU THE DARN THING AND TWISTED.....

here is where it went wrong: as i was tapping the screw-driver thru.....my wrench (thats right, who uses a rubber hammer?) swiped the uper fairing..............

it put about a 2inch scratch.......

some sympathy would be nice guys......

It's not a scratch... It's "Character"

Don't feel bad, my drying towel hit the ground and picked up a twig. In one swipe it put a 10 inch srcatch in the right fairing.

edit: spelling > me

I know what you mean Sir...and I feel for you. I had my 1st bike about an hour (brand new F4I) When I put my first scratch in it. I was soooooooo Pissed I felt like kickin the thing over, but after I calmed down, I walked over to the shop fridge and peeled off a racing sticker just big enough to cover the scratch, put it on there and never saw it again lol.
Sorry to hear about it, I would be on my way to the dealer flippin through the sticker book cuz scratches drive me nuts!

Yea ive put a few stickers on my bikes too. Funny how you can put a sticker on the side of a bike and it look cool but scratch your car and its to bad.

Pick out a good racing sticker and put one on both sides in the same location and no one will ever be the wiser.

LMAO @ lil bump thingie...and yep thats where mine was too. Course, an hour after I posted this (dont know if you guys saw this thread) someone posted the "you might be a squid if..." and what did I see on there??? #xx "you might be a squid if you put decals on your bike to cover the scratches" LOL!
Oh yeahhhhhh, if only that worked on cars. When I used to drag race my mustang, the pit pal bottle paper towl holder thingie fell off the wall in the trailer in transit and put a big ole dent in the fender right on the corner...I was racking my brain tryin to think of a way to cover that thing. im thinkin "hmmmm an antena on a race car wont look TOO bad...halfway between the windshield and the headlights" lmao yeahhhhh, riiiiiiight.
Oh well, that was only one of about 20 of the squid thingies I fell into on there...but beats the hell outa ridin around with a scratch i think. Glad it worked for ya!
