yeah i know iceman.. he is the one who tunes my bike. we pulled 185mph in 9/10 outta my RR 1st time out.. im not saying the 12 isnt a quick bike but in 02 when i had my busa there was not 1 zx12 in all of south florida that could touch my bike and mine was a mild setup.. when i say all it has was drop in cams thats was it for the motor. of course it had pipe, pc3, no mirrors, dymag wheels, etc.. blaise cycle down here had a supposed fully built zx-12 and he would never come out and run it cause he knew the #'s we were pulling with busas back then.. it got to be so bad that in 03 when the gixxer 1k came out it was walking the guys with 12's..

im not beating on your bike bro i am just saying down here in 9/10 it never got any respect. i have never seen 1 run myself personally. right now iceman got an 05 gsxr 1000 with cams going 198mph on 185whp.. also, dont forget running a roll at 25mph gives us a lower top speed cause we get to the end quicker.. if you did it standing stop your times would be faster. i have tried it.. if you can trap 150 in the 1/4 mile if you roll the 9/10 at 25mph and mark it to 1/4 mile youll be around 130mph or in the 1/4.

Right but from what I hear Blaise wasn't exactly an optimal tuner....didn't Al Cindus go from him to Ice?

I think the overall truth lies somewhere in between. If you have tons of Busas and virtually no 12s, if the 12 is harder to work on and harder to turbo w/less aeros, there will be virtually no turbo aftermarket or tuning in general out there for it. Hell the turbo I'm for is a lackluster old school one from Mr. Turbo....Cuz I have no choice in the matter! Its heavily modified, don't get me wrong, but still....the bastard hyperbike as far as support goes. C'est la vie.

I feel ya. I told Phantom12 I'd come out June/July this year to 9/10....I live in the DC area so its a TREK! But w/2 maxtons and Bonneville this year it'll be impossible, oh well.

Good luck w/your endeavors...real world tuning is where its AT!

oh no doubt blaise is not a great tuner.. i brought my 00 750 to him after my bike was tuned by a guy named GP jorge and he got me 7hp more on his dyno from the baseline run.. guess what that got me.. a 4mph loss in the 9/10... the bike made more power on the dyno cause ram air was not factored in.. brought it back to jorges map which he tuned strictly by running 9/10 and seat of pants and was back up to 176mph..

i understand the aftermarket world is not as accomodating for the zx 12 compared to the busa. trust me i know the feeling.. i am figuring it out the hard way with this RR. i have never owned anything but suzuki and now having a honda the only place i can get anything for the bike is in japan.. it will cost me more time and money but i will find a way to make this bike run in the 190's on gps and beat some gixxers..

good luck to you too.. maybe barry henson from velocity could help you do a custom kit for your 12.. 5 years ago i watched him go 234mph on gps and it was just amazing..

Mr. Turbo? Make sure it's heavily modified -- their stuff is crapp

Have you gotten with Dennis yet (Motorhead) ... ya, I know he's a zooky dude but if there's a decent kit for the 12 he'd know about it. It's his fault I got into the boost ... what a trip into the dark side that is

And I know Mr. Turbo ain't the best route....velocity's was a one-off. The way I'm going, I'll have 400 hp off spray.

Looking for an honest 250 mph, world record for any 12R anywhere was 249 on GPS....bear in Africa hit that....but they avg the speeds both ways....so he was a little shy of it.

Either way I'm looking for 250 on a 12.

well your going to laugh but after all the talk about the 12r i went out and bought a 06 zx10.. im going for an honest 195mph with headwork only and 200+ on built bottom. i cant wait to pick it up end of the week..
