I'm a Honda rider, I got a 97 CBR Fireblade and I still love it since I bought it back in 2000... check her out here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2359073/2 Now I'm looking to get a newer bike, but I'm having trouble deciding between an 04 1000 RR and the 04 R1. I have about $8000 to spend, which bike would you pick and why? Thanks

well if you are gong to ask on this forum we are going to say the cbr becuse tht is what we ride and if you ride a hond why are you sking this question. i have a 2006 1000rr their rnt much difference between the to other then some smll upgrades they made. the r1 is no sloutch i just prefer the honda because of the looks nd fine workmen ship. they both will go rel fst and will be more then most average riders an handle i know i will never be able ride mine to its fullest potintal look at what you think is best and go for it they are both liter bikes

yes, I complety understand where you're comming from, there is no way I can ride any of those two bikes to the full potential. I posted this same question in the R1 forum, I just want to research the pro/con from each bike. Who better than this comunity to ask about your bike... What year RR do you guys recommend better 04 / 05?

I've ridden the 04 RR and the 04 R1, like them both overall... but IMO handling feels better in the RR in the other hand the R1 looks nicer... please don't get me wrong, for me looks is not a deciding factor in this case.

my coworker has an 04 r1....and its a very fast bike, but very 600 like as it requires high rpm's to really make power, which makes it a little more difficult to ride....we are constantly seeing posts that ask these questions....the answer is always the same. ALL LATE MODEL FULL LITER BIKES ARE FAST, ALL HANDLE VERY SIMILAR TO RACE BIKES; in most cases ALL are more capable bikes than we are riders. Riding skills really makes a difference on these bikes. ALL are the equivalent of a factory race bike with lights. It really boils down to personal choice, and like most members of this forum, I have made mine. I won't dog the other manufacturers, as it makes as much sense as unzipping and whipping them out....I ride for the passion of it, and Honda is my mount.

I Like yamaha almost as much as honda...I have always had one or the other...It seems to me, at least the diffrent toys ive owned over the years. My yamahas always tended to be more "beastly" just crude and unforgiving, but damn fast. The Hondas, again, only in the experience ive had with one versus the other...seemed to be a bit more refined and offer more comfort and all around performance. That would be my $.02 but im flat broke from all the damn bike mods
