I`am planning on cutting the exhaust cone on my bike; will this have any adverse affect on my bike? ex. lost of low end power, loud tone, ect. Thank you guys for any help on this topic.

I cut mine off, didnt make any difference with the power and I barely noticed any difference in the sound, maybe a little deeper. I really dont think it does anything if you cut it off but I am sure it must free up some of the air flow, but nothing I can notice.......I had to give it a try but I .personally think its a waste of time.
My 2 Cents

Thank you for your 2 cents Arkas, but somthing in {more air in and free flow exhaust makes power} makes me want to cut it.

some aftermarket slipons (eg. 2 Bros.) require you to cut the cone. No big deal leaving it or removing it. Not worth the hassle to take it out in my opinion, but whatever floats your boat

I agree.....a waste of time for the results you get.

I installed a Two-Brothers and was required to cut off the 'California' cone - if I didn't, the pipe wouldn't fit. It was super easy - just need a steady hand so as not to hack into the swing-arm (so save the beers for after). My new pipe had a leaky seal and I had to put the stock one back on while Two-Brothers re-sealed the pipe (by the way hang on to you stock pipe - you never know) - removing/cutting either the cone or in the case of a California bike - just more pipe, in no way affects the bike/performance.

I cut mine off and it made a little difference in sound but didn't feel it on the performance side

In order to install my Two Bros. carbon fiber slip on, I HAD to cut off the cone because the slip on would not fit with it in place. I could not really tell the difference in feel, but it sounded a little throatier. No adverse effects and I'm sure I am getting better exhaust flow. Ridden over 10,000 miles with the cone off.
