Hey there! I'm Su, 19 from Visalia, CA. I've been interested in the cbr600RR for awhile now. Currently riding '06 ninja250 which is my first bike and i really like it... but i think i want something bigger. The reason i got the 250 first was because it was my starter bike, i'm 5'2", 115 pounds. I'm still on tip toes but have gotten use to it now its comfortable so thats not an issue. Will this bike be too much for me? How is insurance? any feedback would be great, Thanx!

Su

Wait at least a year before jumping to a bigger bike. It will make you a more skilled rider.

I'm an inch taller and have been riding for 30 years, am on my 5th bike now - and would not be comfortable on an RR, it's just too big ... have you sat on one yet and how does it feel? My F4i was professionally lowered and I love it. Feels like the bike I've been waiting all my life for!

My current insurance is with Farmers and is quite low ($300/yr) because I've been with them forever and I'm a leeeetle older than you. I've gotten quotes from other companies out of curiosity and they range from $1000 to $3000 per year for full coverage! Expect the RR would be more even.

The 500 or 600 Ninja might be a good next step, my last bike was a '98 Ninja6E, which had a low enough seat height for me stock. It was a lot heavier than my F4i, but rode very nicely. Waiting a year is good advice.

Does Farmers write NJ policies? Damn that is cheap! I agree with you on the RR, it's not my style. I don't like my banana seat, but the F4i feels better than the RR to me.

Yeah, insurance is a nightmare. My agent went to bat for me - Farmers doesn't generally write for sportbikes at all.

The huge seat IS kinda clunky, but then it was a lot easier to cut down the height than the 2 piece models from other years.

i know my bike is older than all 3 of yours, (97), but i found state farm to be great. i only pay $172 a year full coverage with a $250 deductible. might be worth checking into- or maybe not. but just thought i would add my 2 cents.

See I heard State Farm does great deals, but I refuse to go with them as they sneakily put my step-father on my policy and tried making me pay for his insurance on my car. I disputed that and it was just a nightmare! So I say $^#& SF! Sorry for those insured by same!
