On the 600 - 5k is about as high as you can get and dump the clutch. Problem is that you stay down in the low revs after launch longer than you need/want to. If you want to go really fast, however, you need to get the revs up and keep them up. Sure we both put the same power down (me feathering the clutch, you using the throttle) for the first few feet - however - you at that point need to roll on the throttle to create power, I just need to keep feathering... I'm going to eat my bike up in short order, but it will be faster in the short term ;)

Do I launch like this? Maybe twice a year on the street when I really want the hole shot ;) Elsewhere? sure on occiasion...

I need to learn how to launch too. I just got beat by my friend 05 kaws 626 with full titanium mizzu exhausht and 03 kaws 626 lowered w/ yosh slip on and k&n air filter. I have 05 cbrRR with yosh slip on. I was so mad coz I always left behind when I launched. I'm gonna try on 5Krpm next time.
Also does anyone always shift gear witout the clutch? Even it is up or down shift? My friend told me it will also make your clutch last longer. Is this true? When I tried to shift up and down without the clutch, it's kinda hard to shift. Does anyone has any input on this?

Maybe the kawa's had a 10cc big bore kit that they didnt tell you about.

IMO, need like 11k+ and a good feel for the clutch.

Maybe some ankle weights velcroed around your forks too.

Not with me on the cbr.

The Kawasaki's are 636cc quite a difference in displacement, they are considered the cheater bike of the "600" class.

Think they push 5-10 more hp, but not exactly sure. And its all driver too. My buddy rides a 636 and falls behind.

I know mine should be a lil faster than theirs. I'm new to the bike I bought mine in July. I'm still learning. I was afraid my bike will jump up and fall on me when I raced with those guy. I need to learn how to launch. Hey bushmasterAR15 do you hold the clutch when you shift up or down? My friends said I don't need to and it also make your clutch last longer, is that true? I tried to shift mine without holding the clutch but it was kinda hard to shift. Mine is 05 cbr 600rr.

Yea I use the clutch. I tried not to a few times and it didnt want to go in gear which should tell you its not normal. As for it making the clutch last, nahh. In fact its prolly worse for the tranny which is ALOT more expensive than a clutch. Im not sure what you would gain from clutchless shifting, just practice fast smooth shifting. I can shift very fast with the clutch hardly letting off the gas, and my bike thanks me for it.
