my bike was produced 06/92 & is registered as a 1992 not a 1993.... I'm incredibly confused..... I can't find production numbers of just how many of these "early release types" are floating around the color scheme doesn't look anything like the 1993 and my bike is ALL original can anyone give me some insight as to just what I've got here? I can take pics of the VIN tag and the bike..... I've only ever seen a small number of photos of this one floating around the net any help would be greatly appreciated

I just happened to work at a Honda dealership just after this bike came out..it came out in spring 1992 as an early release 1993 Model ( very common in the car industry)..there is where the confusion is...I went to the AMA Superbike races at Laguna Seca that year ( April) and a friend of mine had just got it the day before!! I had not even seen one yet ( he drove to L.A. to get it) and then there was one up on a rotating platform on display..I still have the pictures in my photo album and then in the next few months these things were like Ninja's and assholes....Everyone had one So technically..there is no such thing as a 1992 CBR900RR There was the original RED/WHITE BLUE scheme followed by the BLACK/SILVER/RED model a few months later At least that is how it worked here in California, I do not know how it went in Europe

mine is red, white, and blue but the graphics are really aggressive not like the rest of the 93's I've seen.... they're jagged and torn looking like they're being ripped off the bike because it's going so fast dunno what I'm supposed to do though...... the insurance company and registry both say it's a 1992 I'll see if I can upload it as my avatar

That is a EUROPIAN paint scheme for sure, Maybe in Europe they did sell it as a 92 model, I am not that familiar with thier vehicle codes and registration requirements

Hi guys! I have a '92. cbr900rr with black/gray color scheme and it's a german model (I think). People don't know that there's a '92. model at all, so I always say that its a '93 model because that year is often said to be the first year of production. I'm from Serbia and Montenegro, which is in south-east Europe. Take a look here http://www.bikepics.com/members/pablocobalt/92cbr900/ BTW, it has 38 000 km ( which is around 25 000 miles) and it runs really strong. Currently, I'm in San Jose, on a business trip, so I"m planning to go to FactoryPro shop, to buy some goodies for my baby :D

might be a European paint scheme..... but I'm in Canada I still don't know what to make of it..... I only know of about 5 others like it in existence it has 27k miles and I paid the equivelant to $3650 USD with a new chain, front tire, K&N drop in filter, new plugs I've had it to 270kms/h (167mph) dunno what's been done to it but it pulls like a bas#ard I'm just wondering if I should leave it alone because it might be worth more original, but I want to mod it sooooo bad!

I've paid similar amount of money for it... 3200 euros. Before I changed the chain & sprockets, I also went 270km/h. But, I wanted to extend the transmission, so I've lower the back sprocket to 41 teeth (I got RK xw-ring chain with vortex sprockets). Now it goes 250km/h on 10k rpm in fifth gear, but when I switch it to 6th gear, it can't go over 9k rpm and that's around 240km/h... I'm thinking of modding it some more, by adding FactoryPro titanium jets & air filter and their ignition advancer.

European models were produced in 92 they were not imported until 93 in the states.
