They are all great bikes, but I have to give it up for Eddie. Lots of time and $$$ put into that. I'd hate to have to rank 1-5 though.

had to go with deezuhl. the wheels are beautiful (especially with that rear rotor). but what did it for me was the black rearsets. or i should say what the new rearsets revealed. a wonderfully blued titanium downpipe. that small touch just does wonders.

and to eddie, . this was a tough month. there is no question that alot of time, effort, and income went in to making this bike one of the most custom cbr's i've ever seen. it's not my style but i can definately appreciate a quality built custom. that bike really should be in a magazine.

Dude ... take some midol and chill! Lot of work goes into stretching and blinging. I know it may not be everyone's cup-o-tea but ya gotta recognize the effort that goes into it.

Ya know, this is probably why there’s a struggle for voters/interest for Bike of the Month. First off, folks with attitudes like yours need to take into account the flip side. Hell, I personally think bikes that look like they came straight off the showroom floor are boring, but I realize they took enough pride in their bike to clean it up and I can only respect that.

Looking back on the history of Bike of the Month, one can only surmise that only a “certain” type of bike is selected; basically stock looking with minor upgrades. Creativity in most instances is definitely lacking. If those bikes were (God forbid) stolen, there doesn’t seem to be anything unique about them that would call attention to the bike, therefore making it a bit difficult to spot in the crowd. Now I don’t know if that pervading attitude comes from the fact that not all of us have the resources to be unique and really create a work of art, or if it’s just a track junkie mentality (if it’s got accessories that aren’t conducive to racing on the track, then it’s a piece of junk) that’s the dominant culture here. Either way, it just plain makes a certain segment of the CBR (hey, wait a minute…is this a CBR site?) riding community (those of us that do have the resources to make our bikes stand out in the crowd) feel that there’s an existing bias here. For that very reason, the BOM and this site as a whole seems to go in circles. It’s the same folks and the same bikes and that’s evidenced by the admins having to literally beg for folks/new blood to vote for BOM. Yeah, real exciting. I’m really curious what the turnaround ratio is for membership here in terms of how long new folks stay.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that thinks this. As a result, sadly, I spend the time I’m not out RIDING my motorcycle on other boards. As a CBR rider, you’d think one would feel more welcome on a board that caters to our motorcycles and yet, I know I don’t.

Good luck to the nominees. May the best bike win.
