ive been having trouble throttlin up in 2nd w/o standing up so i ordered a 15 tooth front sprocket with hopes that this would help. has anyone encountered this same problem and if so did the sprocket help acheive the goal?

how much expierence do you have then, because i have rode stock 954's and can do stand up's and reg wheelies no prob in second, i have done a -1 front and +2 in rear with one of my 954's and it was very easy so my opinon is it will help but lean back a little more and snap thottle a little harder and percise

well i have been riding for a while but im just now gettin the itch for some wheelies. my buddies do stand ups all the time. i just want to get comforatable with sitting down and doin them first.i talked to a guy with a 954 and he said sit all the way back and pull up. well i tried and it wasnt succesful. im just hoping that when i get this on it will be easier to bop the throttle and get it to come up. ive been gettin it up to like 6-6500 letting off and then nailing it. it will come up a little but not alot.

I've also done them on a friends stock 954 in second. Roll up pretty hard to about 7K, snap it shut and whack it open and give a little tug on the bars. Always worked for me and him. Even a Gix1000 wont power up in 2nd, you have to do the same thing, so fear not, it just takes practice.

eh on the clutch idea unless u are comfortable and dont do it to often, hard on the clutch

My Gix1000 -03 goes up on row power on second just by increasing the throtthle opening and no other tricks. That is after changing to a Yoshi system, adding a Power Commander and one tooth down front.

I've had my bike from new and now have 34,000km plus and I've clutched the thing since the day I picked it up. I've never had any problems with the clutch. It's no harder on the bike than twisting the throttle wide open. Oh and if you are willing to do wheelies than you better be ready to write your bike off as there is the possibility of wiping out so you will not have to worry about your bike. LOLOLOL

You are better off increasing your rear sprocket by 3 teeth. This is the same as going 1 tooth smaller on the front and you won't get the increased stress and wear on the chain as you will by going 1 tooth smaller on the front.

wheelies depends on how much you weigh too. i weigh 230 and with stock sprockets, before the bike was extended it would power up in second with no problem. a friend of mine who also has a 954 and can power it up in 3rd no problem and clutch it up in 4th but he weighs 140lbs. they were both stock except for full exhaust at the time.
