does anyone have any opinion on what sprocket and chain set I should get. I am looking at AFAM, Pro Tek, and Rk. I can't decide and I would like some first hand knowledge...

I had vortex and I liked them, but I think it was the stock chain...but last week I got a Renthal front and rear sprocket set (-1 +2) and I like them alot. I went with a 520 conversion chain, so I got a RK. so far so good. Hope your happy with what you choose.

Whats the purpose of going to the 520? Is it just weight savings?

pretty sure its only weight but it does help. And my RK chain was on $26 so I went with it.

520 has less rotational weight than a 525. you do accelerate off the line ever so slightly faster but not truly noticeable as dropping a tooth or something. however, once you get the bike going really fast...you'll start to notice the difference. ideal for track use...not commute, cause you won't reap the benefits.
how do i know? cause i gots one on mah bike!

Thanks Tahoe. So you suggest keeping the stock chain if its a street and once a year track bike?

yea i'd just stick with 525...but make sure you get a good chain.
i've tried tons and have nothing but trouble with them...so now i use DID and have never switched...
others claim RK, EK, etc. are good chains, but i've only had nightmares with them.
