Its a matter of personal preference, skill, and where/how you will ride the bike most. If I lived somewhere that was all twisties, I'd have bought a different bike, probably the RC51 or maybe the 600rr. If my main objective was top speed, i'd probably have bought a busa or the new zx14.....I wanted something that was good for all areas and could be ridden daily; hence the 1krr....for me and IMO, it was the best possible bike. The 600rr felt great, but its lower horsepower/torque coupled with the fact that you need to run high rpms to really make power, kind of killed that notion for me; It would have worked, but the 1krr was just better at that. Plus I like to blast towards top end, when I get the chance, again the 1krr is just better for that than the 600rr; i still ride twisties and while I know everyone believes the 600rr is simply better there, for me, I am more comfortable and can carve them up on my 1krr. I really don't think there is any late model sport bike that isn't as capable, if not more capable than the vast majority of the riders buying them. You should get what you like and can afford; neither the 600rr or 1krr are what i'd consider an entry level bike...as they both can get away from you quickly if you don't know what you are don't; but if you have wrist restraint, you can learn to ride good on either mount....good luck to you and keep it vertical...

incoherent post mang?
600s are the new 1000s? what? i thought only i typed things that didn't make sense?

another of a liter in the twists is that many times you can just kick in 1 gear and have all the power and torque to carry you through, where as in some cases a 600 is caught between 2 gears.

as far as RC51 preferred in the twists, i'd take the 1000rr over the RC51 in the twists anyway...the rr just handles so much better, but as far as sound...RC all the way ;-)
