To preface this for the uninformed my previous bike was a 300hp turbo and although I've been satisfied with the RR it just didn't impress me in the power department.

Soooo, I go in for shoulder surgery this Friday so the wife suggests that I go for a ride last Saturday seeing as how that'll be my last opportunity to do so for a while. This is unlike my wife so I jump on the idea and haul ass out the door before she can change her mind.

The RR has been babied so far, break in miles have been gentle. First oil change and service have been performed yet I still babied the bike until 1200 miles. Well Saturday I kicked that bad boy in the ass and thrashed it everywhere -- twisties, straights, light-to-light ... everywhere.

All I can say is DAYUMMMMM!!! I'm impressed and slightly in love with the beast now. Maybe it won't power wheelie in 4th but this bike is a monster in sheep's clothing. Who'd have thunk this mild mannered machine was harboring a rocket inside?

So to all considering the step up to the 1000RR ... DO IT!! Ya won't be disappointed.

I know what you mean! The cbr always had this "safe" feeling when I rode it. Not like a gsxr or a 636, where it just wants to kick you off. But man, since my 1000rr feels so "safe" Ive been pushing harder and harder! It's an awesome bike!
