coccohib, slowpoke's suggestion of removing some of the seat foam is a great idea. I did that. Not that I have touch down problems. I'm 6'1". But I did that to put a gel pad in. The seat really has enough foam in it to put the gel pad in. It's a fairly easy process. Use an electric carving knife taking only about a 1/4 inch out at a time. Then just rest the cover back over the foam to get the height to the right measurement for you. The smaller rims idea isn't a good idea as you would have to relocate the calipers and such. Way too much work. Plus with this type of bike, it would affect the rake and trail far greater than what was posted about raising the forks. One last thought. Would a lowering link for a blackbird (97) work?

Hey, guys! I got her down! Moved the forks up in the tree, squashed the shock, and had the seat refoamed with memory foam which gave me about another two inches! FINALLY, I'm comfortable on her and can ride without being insanely anxiety ridden! What a great bike (especially when you're no longer paranoid of stopping at red lights)! Went out really riding her today! I appreciate ALL of your suggestions and help! Illushun, the corbin is of no use to me at all - I'm down here in FL, let me know how you'd like to get it and what you think is a fair price.

When I ordered my Corbin online, I filled out a form. They asked my height and inseam. You could call they and talk to them also. My seat fits fine but, I am 6'1" Yes the seat is wider and that is where the support comes from. The seat is about the same height in front but runs to the rear level not upward. I think my seat may be 2" lower at the rear rider position. The passanger area is about the same height. I also went to e-bay and got an installation kit for $14 and a 7X7" sissy pad for $89 US.

This morning I saw the Corbin up for sale and I had to go for a ride. When I got back the post was gone. It sounds like you are still working on the height thing. If I were you, I would call these people and ask to talk to a tech. I use their springs up front. http://www.progressivesuspension.com Best of luck to you. Edit: I just wanted to say that you may want to hang onto the Corbin until you talk to the progressive people, the rear portion of the rider seat is lower than stock. Or contact Sargent Seats. Sargent can lower your seat if you sent it to them.

Hmmm... mysteriously, it's gone... Not sure if I clicked something, or if admin took it off - either way... I also posted it in the For Sale section of this site - so hopefully it's there still. http://cbrforum.com/m_133616/tm.htm I am still selling the Corbin seat - I've got the bike down far enough so that I can ride/handle it - had the stock seat cut down/refitted with memory foam. Just can't use the Corbin, and don't want to bother cutting away at it. I appreciate your input though! Thanks!

Still, I would give the Progressive fokes a call. I know they can drop the front an inch and I think they can do the same for the rear (pretty damn certain). It is safer to get set-up correctly than to dump the bike in a parking lot or on the side of the road because of a pot hole or uneven pavement that makes it hard to put a foot down. I think, I paid $125 for my front springs. They are progressively wound and are sweet over the road and are rock solid in the turns. You could drop an inch in the front real cheap and maybe get a better ride.
