I have noticed that when I ride for an hour or more straight, my right hand goes numb because of the consistent slight vibration from the bar. I am thinking that a set of after market grips might help me out, but I have no idea which ones. Every set I see claim to be the best. Was wondering if anyone has changed out their grips? And if so did they help out at all?

I have the same prob. I have just ordered a heavier set or bar ends for mine. I'm going to try that first and see if that helps.
A friend of mine put some on his 919 and he says it made a big difference for him.
I'm with you on grips though, everyone claims theirs are the best, but it gets expensive buying grips until you find the ones that you like, that work for you.
Good luck, let me know what you find out there.

I thought about that myself, but there is an "insert" in the bar there.

Just replaced my grips. Bought a set of grips off of e-bay from the store cycle grips. Bought a set of the gel grips and I have to say they work great and look good. The only problem is that you will need to cut off some of the grip's end so the throttle moves freely.

Also when you buy the grips the guy offers two tubes of "grip glue" for $2.50 (actually it is for mail insurance). All the glue is a couple small bottles of super glue. So you can save yourself a few dollars if you pass on the insurance.

You have any pictures?

I've also heard that a good set of gloves will help with that vibration.

Here here on that comment about using good gloves. The gloves I have are padded on the palm of my hand and on the outer edge of my hand which helps enormously. Also but relaxing your grip or changing your riding position you may further eliminate vibration. If you hand is falling asleep (blood not circulating, hence causing the oxygen to numb your extremities) you could try tilting the angle of your hands to elbows that way the blood is circulating better. So if I were you, get some gel grips or the likewise and invest in some great gloves with palm and outer edge hand padding and protection. Also when your stopped don't be afraid to let go of the bars and move your arms around, although doing this may cause others to react to you like you are a psychotic individual.

I have a good pair of Joe Rocket gloves that do help alot. My grip is fairly loose and I do let go of the bars and shake out my hand alot. I still do feel that the numbness is caused by the vibration and not my hand postion. The only reason why I say this is so far this is the only sport I have owned or ridden that makes my hands go numb.

I will try and get so pics on here in the next few days

Here are the pics of my new grips. They are black but come in different color combinations black/red, black/yellow etc. They have finger grooves on the underneath side and raised gel bumps on the top. the only thing I am not crazy about is the fact I had to cut them to make the throttle move freely. That explains the gap between the end of the grip and the bar end. I was trying to "break in" the new grip in the hope that I would not have to cut it but, the the throttle stuck open while go a around a turn. After that I decided not to wait and just cut them. they really do seem to help with the vibration.
