Ok, so I had noticed last week that someone in their sig file mentioned they had a 92 F2 (or was it a 91) but had 98 plastics on it. Is this an easy conversion or did it take a lot of work to get it to fit correctly?

I like the 92 plastics jsut fine but since I need tog et new ones and I have always wanted a 98 look I figured maybe that conversion would be just wnat i needed.

What's did it take?
How much did it cost (un-painted)
Was it worth the work (if there was a lot of it).

Thanks!

They were on the bike when I bought it, they fit fine though. not sure if the mirror stay is from a 98 or not though.

From working with the bike and doing routine maintenance does it seem all the bolts fit in the general areas or can you tell if there was any work done to make things fit correctly?

Are all the parts from a 98 or only certain ones? From what I can tell in your pics it looks as though the lower cowel is extremly simular to the 92 and the upper is damn close with the exception of the turn signals not being part of the cowel itself. And there's an extra vent in your lower cowell right above your "Honda" decal.

The side cowel with the vents below the seat also looks like the 92 but the tail itself definetly looks like the 98.

yes everything seems to go where it is supposed to, the bike was low sided on both sides when i bought it, so some of the tabs are bent in. but it fits fine, the access panels fit a little snug because the middle piece hits the radiator slightly. that is about it. yes that is a cut out above the honda sticker.

So everything on your bike is 98 plastic? including the upper and tail? F2 tank though right?

Yes the tank is the original 93 F2. Everything painted RED is 98. the tail pieces I got off of EBAY, I don't remember what they are from, but they line up perfectly. I would imagine they are F2 though.

So does anyone know if there were any body plastic difference between the years that the F2 was produced?
