I am looking for a 1/4 turn throttle kit for my CBR 1000 RR 2006, anyone know where to get one? The only place I've seen them is on the TenKate Racing site.

Your bike has a 1/4 turn throttle , are you looking for a 1/6 turn throttle ?
I'm not sure if it will work on the '06 , give them a call.

yep, that's what I meant 1/6 turn. Kyleusa does have them for the 06. I though the Ten kate price was a bit steep @ 90 Euros but $120 is about the same. Thanks

do it yourself with a large zip tie trim it and use smal screws to to attache it to your throttle tube seen it done on an r1 you may have to adjust measurments

go to borgs links look in servie sections

Now that sounds a lot better than dropping $120 and another $40 in shipping it to South Africa. I visited the site and it looks simple enough, I'll give it a shot this weekend.

I think I will just drop the money to do it correctly

whats another 120 when I have already spent enough in mods to almost buy the bike over again

peace of mind is priceless

Can't see how it could be dangerous ..... All you're doing is building up the groove that the cable lies in to shorten the stroke. If by some freak accident the cable tie disintegrates you are back to where you started. If it jams the cable, pull in the clutch and hit the kill switch. I've dropped a fair amount of cash into my bike as well but that's no reason to overpay for a gadget. I've built 2 Big Bear Custom choppers with my own hands so I know what not to take chances on because I ride them too and have no ambition to do myself any injury. All the mods to my bike are by my own hand.

Call me a silly goose but I measured mine ('04 1kRR) and mine is a true 1/5th turn. Haven't done a thing to it either. Even if it were only a 1/4 turn if you grip it correctly from the beginning then you don't run out of hand before you run out of throttle. Just takes getting into the habit.

My wrist must be strange then because between the front brake and 1/4 turn on the throttle, 5 laps and my forearms are pumped and my wrists cramping. 1/6th throttle is hardly more than a flex of the thumb. I also find it easier to blip with a 1/6th.
