Hey fellas, im a new rider on a 94 cbr 600. I am getting pretty used to riding ok, but i still catch a little jerk when im shifiting usually between first and second gear, can anyone give me any tips on how to smooth out my shifting please? I appreciate the time and help guys.

the transition from first to second isnt gonna be pretty ever really. as you ride more it will come more naturally and stuff. you could ride the clutch a bit more if youre just looking for it to be smoother. honestly just ride more and more and it will come to you. best advice i can offer

AS YOU GET MORE SEAT TIME YOU WILL GET BETTER AT YOUR SHIFTING AS THE OTHER MEMBER SAID
TRY TO PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR REV'S SOMETIMES WHEN THEY ARE TOO LOW IT SHIFTS A LITTLE HARDER

DON'T RUSH THINGS YOUR NEW AS YOU GET MORE COMFORTABLE THINGS WILL SORT THEMSEVLES OUT!!

I can shift so seamlessly now it seems like i have an auto tranny

Something that I have noticed recently while riding my bike (had this one for only 2 weeks now) is that if I don't let up on the throttle all the way (kepping the RPMs up just a little above idle) that it shifts smoother and it seems to actually slip into the next gear a bit easier as well.

Give that a try as well as the other suggestions and let us know how things are going.

As everyone else said, practice/seat time. The other bit of advice I read somewhere was to not pull the clutch lever all the way to the handle. I think it was a "How-to" article on sport rider's website. Basic gist is only use your index and middle finger to pull the clutch lever in while keeping your ring and pinky finger on the grip. On my bike, this fully engages the clutch without excessive movement of the clutch lever. I also echo spencerjw. Don't completely release the throttle as there is that bit of play in throttle cable when it's fully released.

walker is right, I only started shifted like an auto transmission when I adjusted my clutch...so that I only have to pull in the lever very little...for the clutch to engage.

That lets me shift faster and more effortlessly.
