I wheelied my Haro once..... Does that count?

I hope you guys get used to my thick sarcasm. Seriously, I'm just getting comfortable finding the bp now on my tl1000r. The only problem is that it pisses oil after I ride wheelies. I'm fixing up an f4i which should be done in a week. Then it's on!!!!

first gear u don't need to be up at 8k, i can get my f4i up at 5ish with a lil bounce action, and not even bouncin sometimes then once u get it up u have more time to situate yourself if your gunna shift up into second without slammin the redline shortly after gettin it up....just my opinion

So, I took another shot at doing wheelies on my 600rr with stock gearing. My question to you guys, how do you get the front up with slipping the clutch? I have been tring to do wheelies on the first gear just by snapping on the throttle at different rpms and have no luck.
Any help by u pro's would be great

If you can't get the front wheel up clutching in 1st gear you just need to get out there and practice more. Get rolling about 15-20 mph and pull the clutch in and rev it a little and let the clutch out quick. Just progressively give it more and more throttle to get it up. I am geared -1 on my f4i and I can clutch up 2nd gear at 30 mph now when I'm doing sitdowns. You just need to practice.

Are you serious??? I cant even get my F4i with my gearing and all my mods to come up in 3rd gear. Either I'm not doing something right or there is no way a stock RR will come up in 3rd.

yo...i know that an f4i with gearing can be bounced up in 4th with enough practice...
saw the vid from another rider in a different forum...but i wonder what happened to him as of late.
he actually gave me pointers on mah wheelies...so i blame my busted fork seals on him.

personally i think 2nd and 3rd take a little bit of technique to get them up. gotta time that bounce with the release of the clutch, takes some practice...

he bounced them up in 4th...it didn't look good but just to prove that it could be done. actually...it was VERY jacked looking, like a bird that got its wing blown off but was still trying to fly or something. i'll look for the post if i can find it.

I can guarentee that you can get the F4i up in 3rd. If I take off hard and ride the gear until redline and shift hard the front will come up when I shift into 3rd. I don't want to do standups in 3rd because I really don't see a point in it, but I would do it to prove a point, and I'm only -1 up front. I can clutch up 2nd from 25 mph doing standups so I don't think 3rd would be that much harder. You just have to get a feel for the bike and listen to it when your clutching it.

Yea I have brought it up in 3rd shifting but I couldnt pull it up in third by clutching it at about 80. I just have way to much practice in 1st and 2nd and not enough in 3rd
