So, I've been working on fixing leaky carbs and finding the reason why my bike REAKS when I park it. I found a few minor leaks, put the carbs back together for the literally 7th time prob. (since I've owned it for a few months now) and I go out to drive it. All feels good till I i ripped it in first at about 5k, it pulled GREAT till about 8 then the tach DROPPED to like 4 and the bike just fell on it's face, it was SOO wierd, So I continued to do this in each gear, and it's just miss firing like crazy, and the tach goes all over the place.. What the CRAP can that be?!? I'm smart enough to assume it's not the carbs, considering they have no hook up to the tach, and it sounds and feels like ignition. What could of gone wrong since before yesterday till now?!?! Got any advice, I'd love to hear it! THANX!!!

Sounds as if your battery is either dead or has a bad connection....check the connections and if they check out, remove the battery and have it tested (load tested)

I have a similar problem. I have a 1996 Honda CBR 600 F3. We just replaced 2nd gear and its adjacent shifting fork in the transmission (not fun, try to avoid). Anyway, the tranny is running great now, but at about 7 grand in any gear, the tachometer goes crazy and it feels like I'm losing power until I shift up into the next gear. We did put on a new chain, front and rear sprokets, but I really think this has nothing to do with the gear ratios. I will give that battery test thing a try as my problem sounds very similar to yours. I also noticed that all the lights on the bike now flicker when idleing, but I don't think they did before. Seems like an electrical problem to me. Did you try testing the battery, if so did it fix it, if not, have you fixed it since and how? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for the help.
