All, Hit there. I am shopping around for a CBR F2 1993. I found two near where I live and would like to ask you all what the most common things to look for are. I am looking for typical problems with this model bike that I should check. From the looks of it... Stator/Regulator might be an issue, as well as a CAM chain tensioner. Any other things? thanks in advance.

Tires, chain, brakes, head & neck bearings, wheel bearings. etc. Lots of stuff to check on a bike when buying used. Look out for repainted bikes, usually means they have been dropped, check for twisted/misaligned forks, good forkseals. The head and neck bearings will leave play in the front wheel and front end.. Its kindof hard to check the stator and regulator, without pulling the bike apart with a voltmeter, and the cam chain tensioner lifter will ALWAYS go bad unless you be pro-active and buy an APE cam chain tensioner lifter.

take an experienced rider/mechanic with you to look at the bike. that way you sont get screwed over. good luck on your hunt. the F2 is a great bike and completely bulletproof if maintained properly. my wife wants to sell ours, but im attached to it and cant see getting rid of it any time soon.
